Stayed at Friendly Camp several times within one of their static caravans.
Every time we’ve visited, the caravan has been spotless and perfect for an adventure around the south Cornwall.
The campsite is located near to some good attractions and sights, such as mullion, mullion Harbour, Lizard Point, Kynance Cove and an abundance of costal walks.
The owners are super friendly and welcoming too, which is a massive bonus.

We booked here at late notice and to be fair, the owner was really friendly and accommodating. We love small family run sites, however, this looked like it had been left to go to ruin.
The photos say it all. We have never seen anything like it. There were holes in the ceiling of the shower with plants growing through it. Whilst the actual toilet was clean, the outside shack that it is in is hideous.
We booked for 7 days but left after 1 day as it was so bad. We've never left a bad review of a site but you need to be aware of what you are booking if you choose come here although why you would want to is a mystery.
The site is also on a busy road with traffic through the night. If you are in a touring caravan, your pitch backs onto the hedge off the main road.
I've purposefully kept this review factual and unemotive. If you want outside facilities which are run down and look unloved, maybe this site is for you. However, take a look at the photos before making you choice.

Very comfortable and clean caravan. We took our dog with us, so it was great for him. Not much on the campsite but were able to use the shop at the campsite next door. It was very quiet which suited us. We would definitely go again. We went to Mullion Cove, Kynance Cove, Falmouth, Penzance. Porthleven beach which was dog friendly. We also went to St Micheals Mount and were able to take the dog.
All in all a really good holiday. Thank you.

We must have found the campsite on an off week as our experiences don't quite match others. We got to the site early and Jacky was very helpful even providing us with bedding as we had only brought sleeping bags (having been camping the week before). However the beds were diabolical. The double mattress was as solid as a rock and you could feel every single spring. I ended up sleeping on the sofa as it was so bad. The pull out bed contained in the sofa was just as bad.
People on the site were very friendly and helpful but we didn't see any of the owners the whole week (apart from Saturday). Fortunately other people seemed to know where new arrivals could pitch up. The place went quiet about 10:30pm, up until that time children were playing all over the place. You could use the launderette in the holiday park next door but it does seem to be populated by halfwits, and seems to play drum and bass music audible inside the caravans from 9pm to about 11 or later on Saturdays.

Wonderfully friendly and helpful owners, well maintained and very clean caravan. Came to our rescue at short notice having stayed at another site nearby that had been very poor. Can't thank them enough for making the end of our holiday so wonderful.
Location on the Lizard is perfect, close to great beaches and towns. Would definitely visit again with the whole family. The children loved the chicken running around the site and the other people staying all seemed very friendly.

February 2005 I've been vising The friendly camp ever since I can remember and I always go back, the static caravans are second to none. The site is 10 mins from a Tesco store and is within 5mins of the Lizard. Beaches are very close. Jacky and Bruce are very helpful and always stop to chat if they have the time and always pop around to see if everything is ok. It is exceptionally good value and is within 5 mins of my favorite place cadgwith cove. The cadgwith cove inn is wonderful and situated in the most beautiful hamlet. I would advise nayone to check both of these locations out if coming to the lizard peninsula as the cadgwith cove in serve beautiful food and the camp provides a beautiful atmosphere.

Sept 2002 & many other times This is an old favourite of ours - visited it almost every year for the past 16 years, and my partner has been going since he was a kid! It is on a working cattle farm and facilities are quite basic, but it is, as the name says, a friendly site and is within a short distance of some of Cornwall's loveliest places. There are a number of static vans, but the camping area is spacious & there's plenty of room for everyone.
There is a small toilet/shower block in one corner of the main field. Showers cost 50p, as does a water heater in the small utility room where you can wash pots or laundry. Hand washbasins only have cold water. The facilities are in easy reach of all pitches on the main field. A larger field is open only during the summer, and is situated behind the farm outbuildings. This is quite a trek to the toilets, but water taps are provided around the field. The site is close to the main road and there is some traffic noise but it is not too noticeable.
Dogs are more than welcome on site but owners need to be aware that there are a number of chickens around so if your dog is liable to chase them it's best to keep it on a lead.
On summer Wednesdays a barbecue is usually held for everyone staying on site, both tourers and those in the static vans. People bring their own bangers and burgers and get stuck in. It's a great way of meeting people and breaking the ice. Music is sometimes provided, and on warm evenings the party can go on until quite late.
The site is about 1 mile from the centre of Mullion village, but the large Weststar site next door, Mullion Holiday Park, has a shop that is open to everyone where you can pick up basics (bread, milk etc.), daily papers and holiday stuff. It's a bit expensive though, so we only use it for emergencies. The village has a range of shops, pubs, restaurants etc. and you can probably get most requirements there. Helston, about 7 miles away, has a large Tesco and a Somerfield store.
There are two local beaches, a further mile or so on from the village - Poldhu and Polurrian Coves. Poldhu is accessible by car and has a small gift shop/café. Polurrian is more secluded and can only be reached by foot. There is also a small harbour at Mullion Cove. All the beaches lie on the Coastal Path, and it is a pleasant walk from one to the other. Also close by are Kynance Cove, one of the prettiest coves you will find anywhere (quite difficult to access) and Lizard Point, the most southerly point on the British mainland. A lot of the coast is now owned by the National Trust and is there to be enjoyed by everyone. Another nice place to visit is Cadgwith Cove, on the east side of the Lizard, which is extremely picturesque with thatched cottages nestling in a valley leading to the sea. There is a fine pub here where music can be heard on many evenings.
If you want to leave your car/motorcaravan behind there is quite a good local bus service which passes the site - you can use this to visit the famous Blue Anchor pub in Helston, which has brewed it's own beer for centuries. It is unique and well worth a visit. Fine beer and their pasties are excellent. There is a convenient bus-stop right outside the front door. Mullion itself has two pubs, both selling good beer and having a good reputation for food. If you don't want to travel far the bar and restaurant at Mullion Holiday Park next door to the site are both open to non-residents.
