A stunning setting to stay in - surrounded by mountains with paragliders drifting above and landing in the field opposite our tent. The site has some rocky pitches which are well shaded and some grassy ones which have no shade which in 30+ degree heat is tough going!
The reception has essentials in case you forget anything but there is a supermarket in the village of Vallouise and a weekly market on Thursdays.
The two pools are well maintained and perfect to cool off in the hot weather. The on site snack place serves the most delicious pizza (and hotdogs/ frites but we didn't try them).
The organised activities are great if you want something to do in the daytime or evening. The staff were all helpful and friendly and spoke decent English. The washblocks were kept tidy and clean, however they could do with another block to cope with the busy season.
We explored the area and did a few hikes but there is masses to do if you are a climber/serious hiker/cyclist etc.
If you aren't into those things then you may find yourself struggling to find things to do. A great site with fabulous views.

The site has a natural, rather scruffy look, with pitches on uneven ground between trees or in the open. It's handy for the attractive town of Vallouise, with walks from the site for all abilities.
The reception was closed from 11am to 3. 30pm, so you can have a long wait to book in. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Bread and croissants are available from 8. 30am if ordered the day before.
There is a motorhome point but with only one tap and everyone uses it for rinsing their chemical toilets.
We paid €17 a night with an ACSI card including electricity.

A wonderfull campsite in the heart of Vallouise. We stayed there 3 nights, as a basecamp for hiking on Glacier Blanc and Glacier Noir in Ailefroid valley.
Good sanitary installations, nice city nearby, splendid morning and evening view - and nice staff.
Can warmly recommend the area and campsite.
Area is flat and easy to pitch on - and the pitches are gigantic - plenty of room for car, kitchen and tent.
Electricity is available on many pitches, and plenty of plugs available
