This campsite is a bit of a challenge to find if you don’t have precise directions. We hadn’t booked ahead & managed to find it with only vague directions from the local Tourist Information Office.
It is in a brilliant location; just on the edge of the town surrounded by woods with a fab beach just a 5 minute steep downhill walk away. You can walk down to the beach for a swim, or to the handful of local restaurants & bars. To walk into the town centre is a bit further, a good half an hour away. However, it is a beautiful walk along the coast & definitely worth it. It’s a fab base to explore the area & there is loads to see & do in this part of Brittany.
The campsite itself is beautiful, the site is full of trees scattered across the hillside & because of the layout it feels very natural & secluded. This is definitely not a regimented site. The site was practically empty while we were there, so I’m not sure what it would be like in peak season as some of the pitches looked quite small.
The staff were extremely welcoming & were helpful. We had arrived without a booking & we also stayed an extra night as we loved the site so much. Everything was sorted out for us without any fuss. You could put in your order for your morning bread from a local bakery & one day we also ordered a Kouign Amann which was one of the richest things we’ve ever eaten. Worth trying – one of the staff said you will put on 5KG just opening the box!
One of the highlights of the site is the swimming pool. It isn’t big & would definitely not be big enough if the site was full. However it was perfect for us & the view out to sea from the pool was amazing. If the weather is good, I don’t think you could find a better place to watch the sun go down. You can get lovely pizza & drinks by the pool, but only in high season. They had just opened this facility up while we were there & a young trainee was receiving her training & we were her first customers! Watching her being trained, they seem to do a really good job with their staff.
The showers & toilets were kept immaculate & seemed fairly new. The site was totally silent at night with no road noise.
We had pretty wet weather while we were there with only one day of sunshine which we made the most of – swimming at the local beach & canoeing along the coast to Douarnenez. You can plan plenty of day trips out in the surrounding area if the weather is bad – however, this site really came into its own when the sun shone.
We are planning to return to this site again in 2015 and are really looking forward to it!

This is the second Indigo campsite we've stayed in - the last being one in the Ardeche last year.
They strike a rare balance of good, clean facilities but also a connection with nature; we run a mile from the massive Eurocamp style sites.
The site is filled with trees - great for shade but the views are a bit limited.
The showers, loos and wash facilities are really good although only two loos were open and the site did have a rather 'closed' feel to it being early in the season.
The pool is nice and warm with stunning views of the sea and the kids enjoyed the little play park.
Staff are friendly and speak good English but are also patient with slightly rusty French speakers like myself.
It's easy to walk into the village and beach although it's up quite a steep hill - especially when your planned five mile run includes getting lost and turns into seven!
The only real downsides are a poor wifi system and lack of open loos.
We'd search out Indigo sites again in the future though.
