I have really mixed views about this campsite. It's lovely when approaching and is very pretty. Upon arriving we were excited and looking forward to staying. Sadly this didn't last long. We met Tanya and had phoned ahead due to being stuck in an accident on the M5 to say we were running late and she was lovely, understanding and patient. We were taken to our pitch and we were given some general housekeeping rules. Not a problem. We set up eventually and had a look around the facilities. The next morning we were not long awake and my son was throwing a stick for our very well behaved Collie Hugo, who is also my support dog. He was throwing the stick within our pitch, so we thought, and suddenly a very abrupt voice shouted "you can't do that". I turned to see Tanya looking over our wind break and speaking to my son in such a rude abrupt tone "you can't do that, all dogs have to be tied and secured at all times". Wow. Ok. I could understand her tone if he had been throwing it across the site and on to everyone's pitch. No one was next to us at that point and there was a hedge.
The site has a lot of rules and it did come across a little overbearing and confusing. We were confused about the rules for the water taps and when speaking to other campers, they were too.
The pitches are well maintained but a little too maintained and very close together. We also paid £62 a night for a Microlite caravan (very small) and 2, two man tents. No electric. Pitches are overlooked and nowhere to play ball for dogs or children. Shower room is nice but showers aren't great. Lots of emphasis on being eco with lots of bins but no compost bin. Very odd. Lots of expensive tent set ups, some camper vans and some glamping accomodation down the bottom of the site. 'Camping and crafts' to me suggested a relaxed alternative vibe and sadly, for us it wasn't.
Beautiful river walk and kids mud play area with a lovely pizza restaurant and Bar on site which was really lovely.
No cars on pitches, which was a little odd as campers were allowed, I'm assuming this was due to space and safety. Also, mobile phone signal is pretty much non existent.
Nice walk to the beach. Tanyas husband was very helpful with this.
I'm really gutted that we felt so 'on edge' during our stay and for us it's a little too 'preened' and 'glamping'. I wouldn't return

Our stay at coastal valley was fun and friendly with everything we needed,
The children had lots to do and made friends,
The facility was fantastic, and clean.
Host was helpful and friendly, along with the staff, added bonus of little shop and some where to buy drinks and eat out.
Would definitely return.

Awesome location tucked away in a valley outside if Newquay,
Tanya couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.
Even though we wanted to add 2 more nights on to our stay as it was so good.
Will definitely come back and hopefully it won't have been discovered by to many!

We chose this site due to it's more reasonable price and the fact it doesn't have a bar or club house. It makes it a nice quiet site. It has good size pitches on a main ring where you can park to pitch up then move the car to a carpark, I like this as it made the site safer for the kids.
It has superb facilities even a little kitchen which is clean and have good hot clean showers. The management are really nice and down to earth.
It's an eco friendly site which is a mega plus for us. They have food carts on site on different nights and we had the best pizza ever off some lovely lads in their pizza van.
There is a wild play area and a stream which our daughter loved.
Phone signal was shocking as it is in a valley but we took a short walk up the hill and got full bars.
Definitely happy to recommend and if only it wasn't 9 hours from us I'd be going back for sure. Lovely fresh bread from the little on site shop. They offer craft classes but I cant review them as we didn't attend but everyone who did looked happy with their items they had made.

A lovely family friendly site. Owners are very helpful and knowledgeable of the local area.
Facilities are good, always hot water and mini kitchen is very useful!
The location is amazing, if your happy to, the walk up the hill to watergate bay is a must.
My daughter and I loved the arts and crafts of willow weaving and making beach combing jewellery. I enjoyed the cook free nights with the fish and chips, and Moroccan takeaways that come onto the site.
We will definitely book again

A big thank you to Tanya and Andy for a lovely stay.
This is a great campsite with a personal touch. After speaking to Tanya and Andy over the holiday I could tell that they had taken a lot of time to try and create this type of site.
They are very friendly and try and make it that way for all who stay.
The shower block is new and cleaned regularly and it is free. The kitchen is a novel idea and you can use the small freezer for cold blocks which is very handy and once again free. My only criticism is there is only one sink, as you would expect in a kitchen, and as some people choose to cook in there, it can get a bit congested around tea time. I would like to see a small separate washing up area. (maybe to the right of the kitchen). Having said that it was nice to chat to people in the kitchen, but I do like to get my washing up done ready for the next day.
The location is perfect, in a beautiful quiet valley about half an hour slow walk to watergate bay.
The crafts they run are a great idea and the food evenings are a welcome break from cooking and very tasty. Another couple of touches to make this site a bit different and well thought out.
The pitches are a bit tight if you have a big tent, so you can end up quite near to your neighbours tent. After speaking to Andy I understand why they do this, it is again to make people get along and socialise, which I totally commend but a little more space would be nice. Andy said they were looking at removing a few pitches for this reason.
Overall this is one of the best campsites we have ever been to and certainly the best campsite owners we have met. We will definitely return.

My husband and I reluctantly left this campsite today after an amazing 8 nights. We'd only booked for 7 but had to extend it as it was too good to leave. The owners, Tanya and Andy have got a beautiful campsite. They make you instantly welcome and can't do enough for you
Pitches are spacious, we had electric hook up but the other pitches also appear quite roomy. The site is surrounded by trees allowing for both shade and shelter should you require it.
The toilet and shower blocks are clean and free. Plenty of hot water and a hairdryer is available, all they ask is for a donation into the honesty box for the use of the dryer.
They have a well equipped communal kitchen, again this was well maintained and clean.
The site is generally quiet and is clearly designed for a couples or quiet family groups. It is a little off the beaten track but that allows for a quiet and peaceful sleep and no traffic to disturb you.
Tanya informed us of a few walks that could be done, in fact she gave us as entire information pack. We did a couple of the walks, one into watergate bay and the other to a lovely little pub called the Farmers Arms in St Columb Minor, that only took a 25 minute stroll.
They have foodie events each week on the campsite, this week there was a breakfast cart, a Moroccan evening and a fish and chip van. It's a great touch.
All in all it was one of the best sites we've stayed at and we've travelled Europe camping. Will definitely be back again.

We were made very welcome on arrival and the owners made sure all was ok during our stay. This was a lovely, quiet site in a good location for visiting Newquay and the surrounding area. There was a small stream with a secluded glade that provided a quiet spot to sit. The shower and toilet facilities were fine. There was a small kitchen with a fridge and freezer for your own food and freeze packs which was really useful. Food with a sticker from previous campers was available for general use. There was also a hob for cooking and some kitchen bits that could be used. There were a range of craft activities available - free and paid - which were good fun for adults and children. I would definitely go back if visiting the area again.
