Nick the owner was very helpful and friendly.
Facilities good, level field next door to sheep and horses, with a nice view and walks nearby.
Loved the peace and quiet and we will definitely go back again.

The only campsite near the north Dorset Trail Way a old railway line, now a bike route )
The campsite is 500 m from the trail-way along a level lane.
Don’t miss this trail-way ride, its smooth 14 miles long, car free, and passes through restored old stations and the beautiful village of Spetisbury.
The campsite is nice, no electric, but owner will charge your e- bike battery

Lovely site. Well kept. Very quiet and peaceful. Toilets exceptionally clean, even has a shower.
Very rare on small sites. Ideal site for walking/cycling, close to Sturminster Newton for shops etc. Not easy to find. Hence the 'hideaway' tag.
Nick & Hannah have a great site here and are very welcoming. Camping as it should be. Will definitely return.

Stayed here for a couple of nights over a weekend.
The site is nice and flat, so no need for chocks. There is just the one toilet and one shower, so there was a wait on occasion, but they were kept very clean. The camp kitchen / washing up area is a good, well thought out addition.
There’s plenty of walking direct from the site and lots of country pubs in the various villages that are not too far. Also a nice café down at the Shillingstone railway project which is an easy flat walk away. Shillingstone also has a large Co-op and petrol station.
The views are great and no real shaded areas, so easy to charge the solar panels.
Enjoyed the stay and will be returning again soon.

Ace little site in a wonderful hidden part of the world that is well worth a visit.
The site itself is just nice and simple, a well tended paddock, small but well maintained and clean toilets. The owners were very friendly and you could tell the really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay especially as we were their first campers of the day.
From the site you have fantastic views of Hambledon Hill which is just a fantastic place to visit and well worth the hike. There are also some lovely villages with great, traditional pubs.
As the site is not too far from home I can see that it will become a fairly regular favourite.

Great site!. The facilities are fine, one toilet and one shower very clean and plenty of hot water. Nice paddock with well cut grass and very firm for heavier units. Peaceful and quiet. Not far from the North Dorset Trailway for walking and cycling. A few pubs within cycling distance although a good walk to the nearest. The area has many attractions and is close enough by car the enjoy a variety of days out. We will certainly be going back.

As the previous reviews all say this site is great, the paddock it is situated in has the most wonderful views of Hambledon Hill, peaceful and calming. The facilities are situated in a refurbished welfare unit and every aspects of it are spotless, hot water plenty of, and Nick and Hannah have taken on board the previous comment about local information needed, the trailway down the old railway track is about a 5 minute bike ride down the lane.
For a CL site this is one the best in the area.

An amazing little camp site with all you could ever need. Amazing views, pumping hot shower and clean facilities. A warm and friendly greeting from the owner who gave us a heads up on the area. However the lavender soap in the toilet would suggest we didn't meet the brains of the operations. Aka Mrs Owner.
It was harvest time on our stay and although situated on a relatively quite country road you need to keep your eyes open for speeding contractors in their new Fendt tractors.
First camping trip for the children and I simply couldn't recommend this place enough. Already recommended to friends and we look forward to returning soon.

This new site suited our needs perfectly, although it probably wouldn't be right for every type of unit. We had a very friendly welcome and were made to feel at home. The site comprises a completely flat, square, well fenced field with horses as neighbours, with lovely views of Hambledon Hill. It is a beautiful area, very close to great cycle tracks and walking.
The site has one toilet, one shower and a wash up /dining room. They are housed in a trailer-type temporary building and are new and ultra clean. The shower is lovely and fierce! Adjoining is a chemical disposal, drinking water and recycling area. The owners have made an effort to make the area as attractive as possible with plenty of planting. Although we were pleased with the facilities, we were the only unit on the site, and I feel that if it had more campers, then the one toilet and one shower would not be sufficient. One of the nicest things about the site was complete calmness; there was no traffic noise at all. Dog friendly. It was very good value at £10 for our campervan with 2 people and dog. It would have been helpful to have had some tourist info / local walking routes
