Basic site with water, electric, toilet (no showers). Grass level farm site next to the forest.
I don't know if there is direct access but I noticed a footpath sign at the entrance.
Water was very chlorine-y so recommend take bottled. Lovely & quiet.
Pay £19 cash at farmhouse.
There is no internet or mobile phone signal.
Roughly halfway between Thetford and bury st Edmunds for supermarkets.

Hall Farm is one of our regular haunts especially when the coast is busy in August / September.
It’s a Camping and Caravan Club certificated Site and situated between Bury st Edmunds and Thetford on the edge of the beautiful King’s Forest where you can walk for miles hardly seeing a soul.
Deer are often spotted both in the forest and wandering onto the adjacent fields. One year we watched a barn owl quartering the fields every evening, just magical.
The site is basically a huge fenced field so units are well spaced mostly around the
Perimeter with occasional tents in the middle however as there are no shower facilities so you really need your own. There’s the usual chemical toilet disposal and fresh water and it’s very good value for money currently £16 a night.
The site owners Mike and Sarah are friendly, laid back and helpful. This year in particular it felt a very safe place to travel during the pandemic when lockdown was eased.
Bury st Edmunds is nearby and a wonderful market town with lovely restaurants and independent shops to explore as well as the Abbey and gardens.
It’s been one of our best kept secret places but alas no longer as I’ve left this review!

What a gem of a site! We were visiting our daughter and the usual site we stay at was fully booked. So checked out the CC handbook and found Hall farm. Phoned up and was booked in right away. On arrival you follow the arrows through the farm and set away from the road and adjacent to a vast expanse of open countryside and forest is the caravan field. The area is fenced off and access is through a gate which is kept shut. The Chemical toilet disposal is a short walk from the gate. If you want a relaxing peaceful break then this is the site for you. A lady from the farm visited on the first night and welcomed us to the site also taking payment. You do not need to call at the farm. There are a number of electric hook-up points around the field which is flat and makes pitching a simple job. The wildlife here is amazing but you are fenced off which is reassuring and also prevents your dog from chasing a wild pheasant! Our grand children loved the place and just ran around the field enjoying the expanse of grass. Apparently the site only opened last autumn but once the word goes around about this little gem it could get pretty busy. We loved it just as it was - an oasis of tranquillity. Hope this is helpful.
