Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes
We chose this site from the ACSI book as they give the discount. We had had several wet days and needed a site with washer and drier, and this fulfilled the requirement.
It is situated near the sea, not a particular attractive area, but has gates which open onto a lagoon which is suitable for swimming.
We were checked in quickly at reception, and asked to choose our own pitch in an area nearby, which had a large sanitary facility not too far away. The pitches were not in good condition, very sandy with little grass, rather rough, and the trees weren't very tidy either. There were EHU posts nearby.
Only half the sanitary block was open, and of the open section, many doors were locked, leaving limited mixed facilities for the people there. There is a washing up room, and a laundry, which was rather expensive but necessary for us. The block was cleaned in sections. There's a playground nearby, and there was a marquee there for activities, but not being used at that time.
This was just a small touring section of the site, it is huge. We had a walk round the next part which is chalets, beyond that were more. The whole place had an air of neglect, but I suppose this was out of season. I don't think we made it to the far side of the campsite on the other side of the lagoon.
Outside the gates of the campsite is a cycleway, we didn't try it, but saw lots of people cycling, some from the campsite behind. The path follows the coast along marshland, then comes to the village, which appears to be a modern holiday place, and has useful shops.
The promenade is quite attractive and makes for good walking and cycling as well as giving direct access to the beach. Parking is free along here too.
This isn't the sort of campsite we would normally choose, it's more a holiday park. However we were pleasantly surprised by the village, and would maybe come and visit for a day by the sea.
