I am sure this was once a good site as it has a large pool, tennis court with spacious pitches. However.
The site looks as though it has been left on it's own, the tennis court which was once a hardcourt looks to have more grass and weeds on it. The pool needed a clean with weeds growing through the flagstones. The showers are okay.
The owner has a Vineyard with his own red and white wine the white is fantastic and he is very friendly with 2 great wolf like dogs.
Pitches need a good cut and it needs some big money to bring it back up to standard. 23 euro for the night for the Motorhome 2 x adults 1 x 13 yr old and ehu. We did have the pool to ourselves but only stayed in 5 mins due to the cold.
Who knows the circumstances of the site and owner, he is nice.

Excellent peaceful site on a vineyard. Lots of wildlife especially butterflies. Large spacious pitches edged by wild plants and grasses giving a natural feel to encourage nature.
Extremely friendly owner (french needed to communicate). He has two large white dogs that wonder around site but don't bother you or come near tents, fun to watch them hunting mice and crickets. Your invited to taste the wine he makes and under no pressure to buy, however its a good price and why wouldn't you.
Bread can be ordered daily at his little bar /shop( limited stock). This also houses washing machine €3 for a token. Swimming pool on site with fence/gate for safety.
Two sanitary blocks (one had no hot water the week we stayed).
Easy drive to Saumur and surrounding attractions we walked to the abbey, short forest walk to lake on site. Only criticism a more regular cleaning regime of sanitary blocks needed when busy.
Would definitely recommend though and we will return, €19 approx a night for tent, car, two adults, electric hookup and taxes.

Please note, this campsite, previously known as 'Camping La Herpiniere' is no longer a naturist campsite. It is now under new ownership and is now called Domaine Naturea Camping Le Barrier, and is still situated behind the Chateau La Herpinière.

A basic, eco, type site set in wooded area behind Chateau and its vineyards. There is a building behind the office which appears to have been used as communal eating area. We were there out of season so don't know if such a thing happens later in season. Massive selection of books. Bikes to hire. A few bits of fruit and veg.
Chateau wine to buy from its top end wine to everyday at 2e a litre. Bread/croissants etc. To be ordered every day. I believe ice cream available in season.
A large lovely covered pool, chest deep, in woods. Walks around site. V basic ablution facilities. The charming patron is French. No English spoken. Good mime!
Downside - hot showers with 1. 50e token.
Lovely area. Next to troglodyte village of Turquant. About 4+ hours drive from Le Havre. The site and facilities appear to be a bit run-down but that, for us, does not detract from its charm. Would not suit those wanting all singing dancing place but we we enjoyed very much.
Hopefully we will return again later in year.
