 This is best described as a very, very large Centre Parcs, which has at its heart an enormous lake.
The camp site is on the hill side, overlooking the lake.
The grass pitches are in 'rooms' of 4 and are very large. There is a hard gravel approach to each which can be used as a hard standing.
The cleanliness in the sanitary blocks was amazing. They washed down the mirrors, cleaned the grouting and lifted up the drainage channels twice a day. You felt churlish even making a splash there. The showers were very warm and the whole place was heated.
The was a bar complex and some entertainment in high season.
Down the hill was the main complex area with all water sports and activities, swimming pools, saunas etc etc. It was also the start of many waymarked trails around the lake and into the hills.
There is a small shop on site and a boulanger comes to the pitches each morning. But it is better to drive to Fourmies where you have all the large supermarkets.
This site, which takes Camping Cheques for the whole season, is brilliant for families wanting to avail themselves of all outdor facilities. The chalets and cottages, whilst nice, are rather expensive.
