Returned for a second visit to this lovely site directly on the shore of beautiful Lake Thun.
You can choose your own pitch and we opted for a nice quiet corner under the partial shade of a tree. There is free wifi, a little shop on site, and a bus stop outside the gate.
The local tourist guest card, which is given to you when you check in, gets you free travel on the regular half-hourly bus in either direction, and also free travel into Interlaken on the lake steamer (quay 250 metres from site).
Also a discount on the double gondola up the nearby Niederhorn mountain, where there are several high level mountain walks, some along level-ish contour paths. You also get a discount on the worthwhile St Beatus caves (easily reachable by bus).
There's a restaurant on site but beware, it's shut 2 days per week. The lake is surprisingly warm enough to comfortably swim in, even in mid-June.
There's a nice grassy area to lounge about on before and after swimming. The staff speak good English (the owner/manager and his family are Dutch). The showers and loos are sufficient for the number of visitors. One block seems to be in the process of being upgraded.
The site does not take bookings outside July & August except for stays of 7 days or more. We knew about this and broke a self inflicted rule by following the manager's telephone advice 'Just come, there's always room outside July & August', because we already knew how excellent the site is.

This is a very high quality campsite with good facilities and great location. We had a tent pitch only 50 feet from the lake and the view is idyllic. Ideally placed for touring the area and access into the mountain towns. We drove to the Susten Pass, Wengen, Grindelward and Lauterbrunnen. Shower blocks and showers (v. Powerful) are very good.
A tourist pass was included for our stay that provides free limited bus, boat and train journeys. The staff on reception are really helpful and offered advice on what to do on a couple of rainy days. The pitch was grassy and well maintained. There was limited road noise that was hardly noticeable. The general atmosphere is quiet.
We ate in the restaurant on one night with the food and service both being excellent.
This is a place where you get what you pay for and definitely worth it - hard to fault.

Fantastic site right on the lake, in fact the pitch we got was No 1. Nobody in front of us just the lake. The sanitary blocks are clean with powerful hot showers. We cycled into town or caught the bus(free pass from reception) then used our train pass to travel all over the mountains on cable cars and trains, it was fantastic. A bit expensive but you can save money by taking picnic lunches and eating back at home.

This is a beautifully located site open all year on the shores of Lake Thun on the edge of Interlaken. Access is fairly straightforward taking Exit 24 “Interlaken West” from the A8 road. There are quite a few sites in the area so they are numbered and this site is number 1 (Camping Manor Farm 1). The site is spread across both sides of the road so ensure you go to the side with the Reception on first, the lake side (most of the pitches for Caravans, Tents & Motorhomes are on this side anyway along with static caravans). The other side, the road side, is mostly Tour Operator Mobile Homes and Tents.
Reception staff speak various languages and are very welcoming. From here you will need to rent a special Swiss connection plug which is fairly common here if you do not have one. Also if you are going to connect up to the water tap on a service pitch the reception staff insist they come and do this for you.
The site has plenty of sanitary blocks, an on-site restaurant, a small supermarket, take away and a gravel beach by the lakeside. The pitches are of a reasonable size and either grass or on a hardstanding gravel area by the lakeside. The grass pitches became extremely boggy whilst we were there because we had a lot of heavy rain. Interlaken is in the “lake district” area of Switzerland so the weather is not brilliant but you come for the scenery not the sun.
There is so much to do in this area it would be impossible to list them all. When you arrive on the site you are each given a free bus pass for the Interlaken area which is really useful but note it only covers Interlaken and its immediate surroundings. There is tourist information on site and there are supermarkets in Interlaken on the bus routes.
Overall we had two excellent weeks here, weather aside, and the area is stunning with so much to do and we would recommend it to anyone but do not come here if you want the sunshine every day.
