One of few properly 'back to basics' sites in this area of the Dorset coast - no EHU, compost loos, campfires allowed, pitch where you like.
The site does have beautiful views, a sea view from the top of the field, lovely field, farm and forest views. It is set in deep countryside, along narrow single track lanes and up a steep rutted entry track.
The field is a slightly sloping, possibly less so along the bottom edge but a family had managed to take up the whole of this side of the field by spacing out tent, shelter and car parked sideways. A bit lumpy too, but not too bad, and that's what you get with field sites.
Very quiet and no light pollution. (except from sideways car group who set up some kind of horizontal floodlight to dazzle everyone, but that isn't the fault of the site)
Compost loos - fine and well kept. A sign for 'engaged' would be useful to avoid someone trying the thinly planked door.
Hot showers, but very small cubicles with a horrid clingy nylon shower curtain. Facilities room with plugs for chargers, a freezer for blocks, and a sink with hot water. Outside there are another 2 sinks with cold water.
I saw the coffee hut but there was no coffee or pizzas while I was there.
A great cheerful back to basics site within excellent reach of Lyme Regis, Charmouth and the coast either side.
I would go back to this site but out of school holidays. It did feel a bit crowded / busy when full - not by many campsite standards, perhaps, but I like space and quiet!

What a fantastic week we've just had at Brig's Farm.
The kids were just running around making friends, the site is very convenient for both Charmouth and Lyme Regis (I prefer Charmouth).
Super eco conscious. Recycling caddy is provided for every pitch so you can easily sort waste at your tent.
Composting toilets were of great interest for our children and really no problem. Also as we were there the owner was just finishing off a new toilet block due to open any day now. QQ1
Utility room for charging your phone and a freezer for your cool blocks.
The pizza nights were delicious.
Coffee shack open in the morning (not tried by us but very popular).
Showers powerful and hot.
Tents And small camper vans only.
Very relaxed approach to camping. Just our style

If you want no frills and a really chilled vibe then check out Brigs Farm.
Set in a village a few miles from Charmouth (where there is two good food pubs!) the farm has a great view of rolling fields and the sea. We had a full moon whilst we were there which reflected off the sea. Stunning. We went as you can have fires and dogs.
Pitch where you want.
That simple.
Toilets are 'long drop' organic loos. Perfectly adequate unless you are particularly poo shy!
Kids could run around safely.
Owner even does pizza nights in his outside pizza oven which was extremely popular and delicious.
If you want mod cons and a porcelain toilet don't bother going.
If you want to escape the routine and get back to basics you'll love it. We had a group of 20 and we all had a great time.
Thanks for your hospitality and pizza!
