Owners friendly and welcoming.
The site is extremely well maintained and the surrounding countryside is stunning.
The cycle trail is 5 minutes away on foot and with dog walks in every direction, what’s not to love?
Will definitely return.

A lovely, well maintained site with great access to the Tissington Trail cycle and walking track.
Site owners are very friendly and helpful. One of the 3 hardstandings would be my preferred pitch, but the grass pitches are spacious.
Interesting walks around the village are close by a good butcher nearby too.

Kate will be pleased to know that this CS now has EHU. What a lovely, peaceful spot! Fabulous views over the surrounding countryside, the picture postcard village of Tissington just a five minute walk away, and the Tissington Trail just down the road. What more could you ask for? The tearoom in Tissington is legendary, although the Bluebell pub on the A515 was rather disappointing. If you are looking for an excellent pub in the area, try the Old Dog in Thorpe (closed Mondays). For a nice circular walk, head WNW to Dove Dale, entering it next to Hall Dale, then go down as far as the stepping stones, peeling off left to Thorpe (refreshment stop at the Old Dog), and finally return to Tissington along the Tissington trail.

This is a picturesque site overlooking Tissington Hall. The site has a gentle slope but with a bit of manoeuvring we didn't need levelling ramps. It is a bit exposed so test the wind direction before you set up! You can pitch anywhere around the edge of the site and there is plenty of space.
The site has hook-ups, drinking water and a chemical disposal area (which is actually a toilet open to the elements!) - but no toilet block. The owners are very friendly and a mine of information.
Tissington is a lovely village and it's worth going when Tissington Hall is open to the public. We had the most amazing cream tea at Bassetwood Farm in a 'proper' farmhouse. As already noted the nearest pub, The Bluebell, is OK but not amazing, and if you have a camper van it's quite a walk (at least 20 minutes).
However, would definitely re-visit the village and the site.

This is a super site in a beautiful Derbyshire village, on a working farm.
Pitches are flat, the field is well mown. At the minute it has water and chemical disposal point. In future I believe Ed hopes to install EHU.
The site is quiet, on the outskirts of this small village with shops and tearoom. It is very well placed for access to the Tissington Trail so great for walkers or take your bikes. Tissington is off the Ashbourne - Buxton road, so is also within easy reach of Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell, Carsington Water, Dovedale, Chatsworth House, Leek, Uttoxeter, Alton Towers etc, so there's plenty of places to explore locally.
