Liked: Excellent facilities but a bit exposed to weather. Affordable.

Friendly helpful reception staff.

Convenient for idyllic town with hidden gems, dining to die for and historic charm in spades.

Disliked: narrow access on steep winding road to/from town.

Stayed here for an overnight stay and it was ideal although off the beaten track from our route. (wife's directions!).Was a lovely pretty little site with clean showers and toilets and a good shop for necessities. We had a large pitch but some of the pitches were a bit tight for some caravans. You can order bread and pastries for collection and there is free wifi throughout the site. We had electric on site and the water was accessible. Would stay there again if going on that route! Very close to the a16

Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes

We were touring nearby, and this town came up as interesting, so we decided to stay at the campsite here. The campsite is situated in a deep wooded valley below the old and interesting town. We followed the signs from the town, down into the valley and followed the river along. Because of the deep valley, the site does miss the sun at each end of the day, and is therefore cooler.

The site is delightful, very nicely laid out with flowerbeds, neat fencing, well looked after. There is a large touring area and a number of chalets and mini camping huts. We were checked in quickly by the friendly staff and allocated a pitch, which was not too far from the sanitary block. The pitches had plenty of grass and were mainly flat. The EHU post was nearby.

The sanitary block is opposite the reception building, seems quite new, very well appointed with separate facilities for the sexes. Washing up is in a room under cover, and there is a laundry. Next to the reception building is a small shop, wifi room, and there is a small cafe bar too. The warden was around all the time, cleaning, doing jobs, chatting and generally keeping an eye on things. There is a children's playground on the site, and plenty of grassy space to play. Opposite the site people were fishing in the river.

We cycled into the town, well, mainly pushed up the hill, it's quite steep. The old town is worth a visit, and there are shops. From the site the road leads into the Morvan area, an area of natural beauty. We didn't have time to explore further, but would consider coming back again another time. We went on from here to Semur en Auxois, another old and interesting town.

The price for the site was moderate.
