Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes.
An update since our last visit.
We came here for 1 night so we could visit the town and market, on a Friday. The very helpful receptionist told me that there is a free shuttle bus runs from the sports centre carpark just outside the gate into the town every 15 mins on market day, so we were happy to take advantage of this.
One of the two sanitary blocks was closed, though the touring pitches were pretty full. I think the restaurant was closed too.
However, the site does give ACSI discount.

We stayed her for 3 nights. We arrived on 15th and there was plenty of room. The pitches are large with tall hedges and plenty of shade. The campsite was very tidy and both toilet/washing blocks were all working properly. We spent our first night on pitch 54 but after complaining of noise (TV noise until 3am)from some kind of children's home on the other side of the fence we moved to the south side of the site to pitch 82 which was quieter. There is a bar/restaurant on site and which provides some kind of entertainment or special menus most nights. Bread etc has to be ordered the day before and can be collected from the restaurant. There is a municipal swimming pool next to the site. There is a secure gate for access to the swimming pool. Its a good 10 minutes walk into Carpentras and the site is a good base for seeing the surrounding areas of Provence. We visited L' Isle sur al Sorgue, Fontaine de la Vaucluse, Beaumes de Venise and Vaison la Romaine. We would use this site again. Campervan, 2 adults with electric £19. 26 per night.

The site has large, flat, well sheltered pitches, each with its own electricity and water and is beside a large sporting complex which includes a swimming pool (free to campers).
The whole place does have a slightly unloved feel, with straggling hedges, lack of refuse facilities and a general indifference of the staff.
There are two unisex sanitaires, one more modern than the other. Both have only 3 toilet cubicles. However those in the older building are frequently blocked. The desperation on the faces of the incontinent, as they. Patiently queue for one of the three working cubicles, is painful to watch.
On the plus side, the showers and washing up areas had very hot water
Carpentras old town is 10 minutes walk or a timed 17 minutes at a wrinkly's waddle pace. It is pleasant enough for an afternoon's stroll.
However the site is beautifully placed to visit the area, Avignon, Orange. The Ventoux, Vaucluse or Lubron mountains

Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes.
We chose this campsite from the ACSI book for an overnighter, they are in the discount scheme.
The campsite is on the edge of the town next to the sports stadium, and there is a motorhome aire just outside the gates. The site is quite large, flat with grassy pitches, divided by high hedges so quite private, and plenty of trees for shade. There are chalets, and plenty of touring pitches.
We arrived just before lunchtime, the receptionist booked us in and allocated a pitch, but when we found it there were people eating lunch there. When I returned to reception to report this, I was told by a different member of staff to take any pitch, there were lots empty. We chose another pitch and I reported the number to reception.
There are 2 toilet blocks, with slightly different set ups, but all facilities seem to be unisex. They are modern and were clean. In the centre of the site is a small playground in a park area. Near reception is a shop and maybe a cafe, we didn't go in. Through a gate at the end of the site you can access the municipal pool which is free to use. We didn't go in, but I believe you need a wristband from reception to use it.
We cycled into town, took about 5 minutes. The town centre is old and very attractive, worth a visit. There are plenty of shops there too.
The town is in the popular Provence area, lots do do nearby.
We enjoyed our stay here, and would be happy to use the site again.
