 Fairly flat site on working farm just a mile away from Orford. Ideal to visit Orford Ness NT with its military bomb experimental site remains and shingle seaside nature reserve, but you must book due to the small ferry that takes you there.
Two nice pubs, a restaurant, good local shop, Quay side tea room and well preserved EH castle in the village with plenty of footpaths to explore.
Owners friendly and helpful as when we arrived we couldn't see where to pitch as the site is quite cramped and others hadn't left the usual 3m fire break spacing.
The site could do with more of the field which is fenced off and better positioning of the ehu posts to allow more space per pitch. The site is also in shade from large trees in the evening which overhang two pitches.
Still worth a visit due to its location and local attractions.

We stayed at Raydon Hall, Orford, Suffolk for one week. Lovely quiet site on a busy farm, grass was mowed, good flat site. Very convenient for exploring the countryside, especially Woodbridge and Rendelsham forest. We spent most of our time sunbathing on Orford quay and enjoying the children crabbing.
The dustbin and toilet area could do with a bit of modernisation, but no complaints at all. The owners even trust you to put your site fee in a box by the door.
