 We came across this site by word of mouth. It is a council site
Plenty of motorhomes come here, its like a car park, and the motor homes can block your sun. Hot /warm showers, washing machines, etc, very good recycling, clean and pleasant site. Very cheap, if you caravan, you can after settling in park caravan on the car park outside thus saving you 3 euros a night. If you stay for 30 days its cheaper, Easy walk to small supermarket and town. Wi fi is not great, probably due to people streaming etc

Have stayed before, the staff are excellent and well informed. Generally we park on the circuit road. Toilet facilities excellent plenty of hot water. Good location to visit the nature reserves in the area, known for Great and little Bustards. Some good restaurants in area and not far from the motorway (A1) to the Algarve.

Would say not too much have changed here since the last review. The main differences would be the site was reasonably busy, most of the hardstanding in use by motorhomes and caravans, many of long stay for the winter and others in transit North and South.
Facilities are all as was, cleaned regularly and loads of hot water. Good free wifi across the site and very helpful and knowledgeable reception that is open from 9am to 9pm daily.
The small town has a good selection of shops and the Intermarche Connect is less than 5 minutes walk.
For things to do in the area would say the walled town and castle of Mertola is worth the trip (about 40 km) cobbled streets leading up to the castle and quaint whitewashed houses.
This is popular site in winter with many of the longer term stayers being Scandinavian and British who have decided to keep away from the increasingly busy Algarve.
We paid €10 per night for 2 adults, with ehu, wifi, showers etc - then advertise 25% discount for longer stays and for CCI.

This is a modern, relatively new looking, Municipal site on the outskirts of the town, and was our third consecutive year visit.
It is almost entirely block paved with large marked pitches, but at the time of our visit there were few other visitors and so plenty of space to spread out.
The site slopes quite steeply and so levelling ramps will be needed for comfort, the tent area is however level with sandy grass.
There is ample modern shower / toilet facilities that are clean and regularly serviced with powerful hot water supplies.
There is good quality free wifi on the site and in the town, (code from reception).
Reduced cost access to the outdoor swimming pool across the road from the site and a supermarket 5 minute walk away, at the time of our visit the on site shop was closed but a bakers van came each morning.
A short, (5 minutes), stroll brings you to the town with lots of eateries and two interesting churches.
Cycles are available to rent on site.
We paid 15. 75 euro per night for two people, van and electricity, this included a 25% reduction for ACSI, (or maybe International Camping Card because I always lay all my cards on the table!).
