 A beautiful, fairly isolated campsite surrounded by mountains and rivers in the Drome Provençale. Ideal for walkers, cyclists and peace seekers.
Mostly tents with a few equipped tents to rent.
Small campsite but plenty of room.
Easy access to river running just behind - not deep enough for swimming but ideal for children to potter !
Friendly French Owners.
Very clean shower / toilets facilities.
Freshly baked bread every morning made by the owners.
Swimming pool with spectacular mountain surroundings.
It was the owners first year last summer when we were there and they had plans to set up a little shop selling local produce for 2015. They were also planning to grow their own vegetables.
Table tennis table and room for games, football etc.
Owners have a file with with maps etc for walking and cycle routes that they then photocopy for you to use.
There was use of a fridge for those without electric hook up.
It is very rare that we go back to the same site two years on the trot but have already booked to go back this year !
Nearest big towns with large supermarkets are about half an hour away but there is a village 10 minutes away with a small shop with food essentials and a good restaurant and a couple of cafes.
Lots of swimming opportunities with natural rock slides on every walk we did - paradise !
But also lots of villages / activities / local markets / restaurants in the surrounding area - Saillons, Crest, Die (with it's famous sparkling wine - Clairette de Die), Nyons (famous for olives), Servelle Mountain.
Ideal for a peaceful, relaxing after walking/swimming/cycling holiday in a stunning and non commercial part of France ! Highly recommended.
