 This is the very best campsite in the Peloponnese, if not in the whole of Greece. Built and run by the resident and extremely helpful Fligos family.
Large hedged pitches with hard-standing along the sea-front are ideal for larger motorhomes, with a superb view of sunset over the island of Zakynthos.
The swimming pool, beach bar, shop and restaurant are closed in winter, but there is a heated modern toilet/shower block for each gender, with plentiful hot water. Also washing-up sinks and a laundry room (with washers and a drier, at 5 euros each).
A long sandy beach stretches for miles in each direction - walk it to the village of Arcoudi and reward yourself with coffee overlooking the little harbour.
This site is delightfully quiet in winter, with a handful of long-term residents and occasional campers on their way to or from the Patras ferry. It is well worth the detour from the New National Road.

Open all year site, just over an hour from the ferry port in Patras. Good roads all the way down, no problems for motorhomes or caravans.
Pitches are very large, front row pitches right onto the beach. Water taps every couple of pitches, chem disposal, all with ehu. There are several shower / toilet blocks, heated and with plenty of hot water. Washing machine €4 per wash.
The site has a restaurant and a beach bar plus its own mini market (not open in winter). There is a swimming pool and plenty of grass areas for sitting - plus the beach of course.
The village is 15 minutes walk away, four tavernas, two mini-markets (open in winter). A few miles away is the medium sized town of Vartholomio which has supermarkets, banks and all the shops you could need.
The owners live on site at Ionion, very friendly and helpful at all times.
Its a brilliant site, quiet in winter as you would expect but none the worse for it. Speaking to people here they tell us its more of an area for Greeks to holiday than other Europeans, but there is plenty to see and do with ferry trips to Zakynthos just a few miles up the road and ancient Olympia around 30 km.
Our first site in Greece and it will give any others great deal to live up to. Absolutely recommend this if you are looking for a site in Greece. We paid €16 per night without an ACSI discount.
