The campsite was simple but good.
Lots of standing water in lower field, causing vans to get stuck, but great owner happy to pull you out.
A bit too remote for me, but my fault for not checking.
Lovely walk around the reservoir.

A lovely quiet campsite in a beautiful location. Very friendly informative welcome.
Plenty of space when we stayed, slightly sloping pitches, but our chocks coped.
Modern VERY clean facilities with plenty of hot water etc. Like everywhere, they may struggle when it is very busy, but no complaints at all when we stayed.
A great campsite, recommended.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet and beautiful Dales countryside then Breaks Fold farm offers this in spades.
The first thing my daughter (8yrs old) said when we arrived was; “Can we come back here?”, the second was; “Can we go down to the reservoir?” She loved the peace and space and the chance to hear the Curlews as they traversed the skies almost constantly.
There were lambs in the fields next door and ducklings on the water so the place was an instant hit with her.
Slightly off the beaten track there are still plenty of things to do and see within a few miles, eg Stump Cross Caverns and Cold Stones quarry, and plenty of walks.
Great facilities and an amazing new shower block made for an easy stay, as did the friendly visits from our host.
The camping field does have a bit of a gradient but there are plenty of good pitches to choose from.
We look forward to our next visit.

This is a great little site. Even though we went at half term it wasn't that busy. There is plenty of space in the field, and freedom to choose your own pitch. The field does slope a bit, but we chose a spot where it wasn't too bad.
As it was fairly quiet there was plenty of space for the kids to run around and play. There is also a little climbing frame / swing in one corner. It's a very short walk down to the reservoir.
The toilet and shower facilities were clean and dry. The little hut with tourist information and fridge / freezer (for ice packs etc) is a very nice and useful touch.
It's a working farm, so be prepared for chickens wandering around your tent. The farmer who runs the site was very friendly and helpful.
We loved that we were able to hire a fire pit and have an open fire in the evening for warmth, toasting marshmallows and just for the proper camping experience.
We'll definitely be using Breaks Fold again for weekend camping trips.

What a great site. A real gem of a find. Except for a slight slope the facilities and location were perfect. The only thing that outshone the site was the friendliness of the owners Richard and Louis. By the way there is a separate CL field for caravans and motorhomes contrary to what the spec says above. There are separate toilet and shower blocks for men and women (immaculate) and each caravan has its own water tap and hook up (16 amp) with free range eggs available. Great value for money provided by genuinely nice people.

We visited Breaks Fold Farm last Friday (26th), our first camping trip for many years to try out our new tent. We were so happy with our choice to visit here, off the beaten track, fantastic value for money, weather was scorching and the owner/s were always on hand for help and advice and came to check on us a few times to see if we needed anything.
We went for a lovely walk down to the reservoir (less than a 5 minute walk away), the views were stunning and the location first class! we then came back and had a barbecue and toasted marshmallows and then settled down for bed, the most peaceful nights sleep I have had in ages!
We did originally want to stay for 2 nights but there wasn't enough space so we then arranged to do something else the day after, the owner then said we could stay another night if we wanted but we decided against it as we had made alternative plans, glad we didn't as the heavens opened later that day!
All in all a fantastic first time and we will be back!

A real gem of a find! It is a cracking little CL site with each pitch having its own hook up, tap and grey water drain. There are toilets and showers about 400 metres from the site, more for the campers than the vans. They were very clean, free and with loads of hot water. The owner was very friendly and plans to upgrade the CL site over the winter. Hope he puts a shower and toilet in it would make it really ideal. It's in a great place for peace and quiet with many walks very close by around the four reservoirs. Would we visit it again? A big YES definitely, there are no shops in the immediate vicinity so take what you need. We visited Skipton, Pateley Bridge and Otley all worth a visit plus Brimham rocks.

This is a lovely little site located high up on the edge of the moors and looking over the local reservoir. The site is divided into two with campers having a large field on a hillside, whilst those requiring electricity have a flatter field the other side of the farmhouse. Both fields share the facilities which were always clean but may get slightly overstretched in busy times.
The owners are still working farmers but still have time to make you welcome. For dogs this is a great site with various field to run in and a path down to the water for a walk around the reservoir. There is a pub located the other side of the valley which is only open in the evenings.
In summary a lovely very quiet site and I wish the owners good fortune.

Spent a single night at this stunning rural location. Stopped on hardstanding due to heavy rain, a short walk from the camping field, toilet and shower facilities.
Owner was extremely helpful and informative.
New toilet block was very clean with adequate facilities including a new shower.
Beautiful views surrounding our pitch. Enjoyed watching the rabbits in the evening until dusk. Lovely walk following morning to local reservoir.
Spent all the next day at Bolton Abbey - only a short drive from the site. Lovely grounds and surrounding walks.
Would thoroughly recommend this site for a weekend away from all the stresses of working life.
