Not very good. Dog poo all over the children's playground looks like from same dog, possibly lives there.
Toilets and showers so dirty and just awful, in disrepair. Got stuck in the shower bwcause of shower door. No hot water, faeces all over walls.
Toilet smell unbearable at night.
No entertainment even though advertised.
Very expensive for a pub site and food menu very pricey and small portions.

Arrived and asked John for somewhere to leave our last minute purchase of a caravan for the night. (We are locals and live around the corner) he was kind enough to let us park up behind the bar for the night for £20. We didn't stay but have frequented the bar numerous times and there is a good atmosphere and great chunky fries.

Great site. Toilets & showers, albeit the showers are very basic, that’s no issue in the grand scheme of things. Maybe they could do with updating though, as that’s the only downside really. Chemical disposal unit and fresh water tap available.
Pub is great, friendly & food spot on. Good location too.
We went into Trentham Gardens for the day, 20 mins drive.
Will visit again next year and drop kids off at Alton Towers for the day as it’s 10 mins away.

On phoning to book into this site, the manager was very helpful. Voiced his concern about the wet grass after recent heavy rainfall. We are used to caravanning all year round so this wasn't a problem. Dave did suggest if we weren't happy when we arrived we could still use the EHU but park in the corner of the car park.
The site entrance is lovely and wide and to reach the grass pitches was easy to access and clear from the large New Broom Camping and Caravanning site sign to your left.
As we were the only ones there we got set up and enjoyed choosing where to pitch, a fabulous sunny spot. For a November day can't be bad 👍🏻
Hook up is off the ground 16amp and easy to find.
This PH has recently been taken over by Dave and Sean. They are both working very hard to improve the PH and campsite and this was apparent as the weekend went by.
Sean came over to greet us (lovely, friendly guy) and to explain where the Elsan point and fresh water tap were located at the far end of the car park.
If you enjoy a basic site and are happy to use your own facilities then this is a smashing little site with friendly bar staff and locals. There is another local called The Red Lion within walking distance. I have to say we didn't venture out to it as we had a rather lazy couple of days. There are leaflets of things to do in the area available from the New Broom.
Within the PH grounds there is a fenced children's play area and benches to enjoy a drink whilst keeping a watchful eye.
During the months ahead they've got a whole host of events taking place at the weekends. It's worth checking this out before hand on their website as you may wish to book tickets.
We ended up seeing Ollie Hughes a Robbie a Williams tribute act. Absolutely fantastic night and the ticket price included a Three Course Meal. This was delicious, served hot and freshly home cooked. Yum.
We've had a relaxing but welcoming break here and it just suited us.
Something to do if you choose or a lovely place to relax if the fancy takes you.
We will definitely be returning. Dave and Sean deserve to do well with his place. People just need to give it a try. They are hoping to put in a toilet and shower for next season. So onwards and upwards.
Thank you to everyone who made our weekend so great.
Helen & Mark x
