Arrived on Friday afternoon to lovely sunshine and a warm welcome from Mark who helped navigate my large touring caravan through the gates.
He was very helpful throughout the weekend and we would not hesitate to go back.
Its is a beautiful small CL with great views and it is so peaceful. The kids had a great time playing with other children on the site and it kept beautifully.
Thank you for a great weekend. Would highly recommend.

A well designed and beautifully built site that is manicured to perfection. The owner is friendly, provides each guest with a folder of local information. The site gives easy access to the northern lakes and the coastal towns.

Having read earlier reviews it seemed a certainty that this site would be fantastic. It actually exceeded my expectations in every way. The 'serviced' mains water & waste water facilities worked faultlessly as did the free wifi, which was a great bonus. The site fees are exceptional value for the amazing facilities provided. Mark, the owner works tirelessly to keep this beautiful site immaculate. When I arrived he quickly offered to help me level my caravan but I foolishly thought the gear that I brought with me would do the job. After 30 or minutes of my faffing about he offered again and quickly showed me how to use the blocks he has available to raise the caravan around 4' on one side. He had the caravan levelled in 2-3 minutes! so I will be able to quickly to do this next time I stay at the site. I wholeheartedly recommend this site.

What a gem! Fully serviced pitches, Plus free WiFi, plus excellent children's playground. Great location for the northern lakes. Hosts brill with good advice. Also has really nice camping pod. Our van needed levelling but there was plenty of chucks available.

This was our first ever CL site (in 8 years caravanning!).
If every CL site was like this I could easily be converted. We had a lovely, slightly elevated and level pitch with a good view over the gentle valley beyond. The site was grassed and kept in much better condition than our lawn at home. The pitch was serviced with water and grey waste drainage plus EHU (16A I presume since we never tripped any circuit breakers). The free WiFi was faster than my home super-fast broadband - the BT fibre cabinet just outside the gate being the clue here; if only all sites offered such a connection.
A single toilet with sink, a separate shower and toilet disposal completed the facilities. It did seem slightly strange walking around the outside of the owner's house to get to them. Steep steps up to the patio en-route to the facilities might prove a challenge for the less able.
There is no specific dog walking area. The roads outside the site proved adequate for routine use and there are a few paths nearby for longer walks.
Cockermouth provided the nearest supermarket (Sainsbury's). The Kingfisher pub is dog-friendly and provided an excellent meal. We sat in the beer garden overlooking the river with friends and their dogs.
The site is well situated for visiting the Northern Lake district.
Recommended. (NB not rated for child friendliness since we're child free and everyone else on site were adults. There are play facilities however so it may be OK. )

We stayed for 7 nights here and were greeted with a most welcome pot of tea from the owner on arrival. The site is kept in immaculate condition. We were on an elevated but level pitch with full services though found the drainage for waste had a tendency to clog and overflow. The entrance from the lane into the gate is tight for larger units especially if there are parked cars near to the entrance so beware. The location is excellent for Cockermouth, Keswick and the Western and Northern fells. As someone who loathes wind turbines it is a shame the views from the site are blighted by these abominations!
