We particularly picked this site as it is close to a friend, whose party we were attending that weekend. The owners were out when we arrived, but quickly answered the phone and gave us the entrance code and told us where to pitch and where to find water and power.
The water was in a little cabin next to the pitch. The tap was too high to fill our Aquaroll using the piece of pipe we keep for the purpose, but we were able to attach a hose and fill up from there.
Facilities were very clean with 3 cubicles (2 with shower/basin/loo and 1 with just basin/loo). These were fine when we were there, but I imagine might get busy in high season.
Showers were push button and the water was quite hot. Grey waste is emptied along the hedges, as per the owners' instruction.
All in all, a lovely, grassy, spacious and open site.
An excellent find and we would certainly stay here again if the need arose.

Lovely site, we were met by the owners, shown to our large pitches, pub down the road, and tea room, the other way, we visited selsey lovely beach with skate park.
Great location to visit hayling, bognor, car boot was on a Saturday, nice clean showers and toilets, and good size, they do recycling and seemed to be plenty of places to walk,
We enjoyed our stay and considering going back next year thank you 😊
We pitched on a hard standing pitch, with the awning on the grass and plenty of space between vans and to put the car.

What a lovely campsite! Spotlessly clean. Couldn't fault the showers or toilets. In fact couldn't fault the campsite at all. Owners were a lovely couple, very friendly and accommodating.
Although it's situated on a busy road, traffic noise wasn't a problem as site sits back from the road. We were able to access quite country lanes from the footpath in the site on our bikes without going on the main road. Recommend Medmerry, miles off road cycle tracks and can cycle to the sea wall. Highly recommend this site. Would definitely go back.
Have given a 10 for child friendliness, but to be fair it doesn't apply to us, bit cam't see why it wouldn't be.

Lovely welcome when we arrived. Very nicely kept site with large pitches.
Good facilities, with 2 shower rooms, to be used at set times of the day. Lots of places to visit from here and walks. Unfortunately we were not able to try out the walks due to my partner being an amputee, but we still had a lovely time here. The only thing that spoilt it was the heavy traffic noise. The Anchor pub just a short walk away from the site, was very welcoming, and the food was presented and tasted lovely. Good price too, would definitely recommend it.

We stayed at Fieldgate Campsite for a week in September. Isobel & Al were very welcoming. We were sited on a hard standing flat pitch. All the pitches were well spaced. The site is well kept with mown lawned grass. The toilet facilities are newly built and kept spotlessly clean. There are also showers which can be used between certain times.
It's a lovely area with lots to see close by such as walks on the Chichester canal and a visit to Arundel is a must.
The road noise is slightly intrusive but the positives of staying on such a gem of a site more than made up for it.

Nice people. Nice site. But quite a lot off road noise, traffic going to factorys just up the road 24 hours. Pub across the road so expensive and the food was very poor. A pint of bulmers cider was 4. 40 and a med wine was 5. 50, house wine and sunday lunch was 12. 45 and it was rubbish. We went there because pub across the road, but don't bother
|
Management response: Just a note to say that the pub across the road from Fieldgate (Anchor Inn) changed hands around Christmas 2015, so hopefully they will be pleasantly surprised if they choose to visit it. But there are also plenty of other lovely pubs in the area, which Alastair and Isabel will be happy to tell you about. |
