Site is one of the first over the border from Poland, just outside the village which is on the border of the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.
Pitches are spread along the edge of the lake all with ehu and several water taps spaced between. The site is shared with a museum of wood carvings and metal sculptures made from scrap. The lake looks over to Russia on the other side - with a smallish beach good for swimming. Lots of carved swings, children's equipment and even a small mobile sauna along the lake shore.
There was wifi available at the part of the site nearest reception. There is a cafe but it wasn't open when we were there. Nearest shops in the village which is approx 4km away.
Owner doesn't speak English - but does speak several other languages. We found him easy to deal with using a bit of sign language.
The loos / showers let the site down dreadfully. They were without a doubt the worst we have ever seen. Not sure when they were last cleaned, piles of rubble and building rubbish on the floors, doors broken. It may be we were early in the season as only us there but to be fair they would be better to look them up and say no showers or loos.
Real shame, ignore the facilities block and its a lovely site. If you are going to use your own loo / shower (as we did) it would be a great place to stay. We stayed 2 days as we had seen what we wanted to in the area.
