Overall, we really liked this campsite and stayed 4 instead of our original 2 nights. It's in a good location on the outskirts of Harlingen with a road and the customary Dutch sea dyke between the site and the sea. It's about a 15 minute walk into Harlingen which is an attractive small town with ferries running to the nearby islands. There are no hardstandings at the site but the pitches are quite generous and the site is spacious. As noted previously, you have to pay 50 cents for showers, hot water at dishwashing area or for a metered fill of cold water into the mh tank. However, the campsite itself is relatively cheap. There is no shop at the campsite although there are supermarkets (3) between the campsite and Harlingen. There was a restaurant on site but it opened the day we left. The charge for wifi is 2E for 24 hours - NB you can only connect one device per payment. I note a previous reviewer's comments about road noise. I was awake one night and could hear this but it's not from the road directly in front of the site but rather a motorway / dual carriageway which is at least a mile away. Other than this, the site is very quiet.

This was a really nice site, quite large with direct access to the water for boaters. There are 2 toilet blocks, both clean & well equipped. It wasn't too expensive but you do have to pay extra for hot water. The nearby town of Harlingen is a 5 - 10 min bike ride away& well worth a visit, lots of shops & places to eat & drink. I was disappointed on arrival to find that the disabled facilities consisted of a grab rail in one toilet cubicle! Some showers had wide doors so you could get a wheelchair in, but then there was no seat or rail luckily we were only staying for one night so it wasn't a huge issue.
Overall I would recommend the site.

We spent 3 nights here beginning May used ACSI card. Approx 20mins walk to Aldi/Jumbo supermarket & town. The town has lots to see & places to eat. Ferry to the islands & tourist info. There is a café/restaurant on site & also a play area for children. There is some low level road noise at times when outside. The facilities were clean. 20 cents for hot water to wash up & also must pay to fill m'home water tank with hose. Don't know how much (use container & cold tap near facilities block). No cycle hire here. We drove to Bolsward 'American Base' shop next to BP station which had camping section upstairs. Free parking in this town next to supermarket then a short walk to the high street. The town hall & large skeleton of a church with glass roof are worth a walk to the other end of the high street.
