Nice size pitches with hedges between, we were in the most populated row.
There was one toilet, two showers and 2 sinks plus laundry sink. The other block was under the swimming pool terrace down tiled steps which was bigger and fewer campers in that area which was more open. No toilet paper or hand drying but did supply soap although empty in the larger block.
A site to rest and relax in. It was nice to hear the nightingale sing.
Handy for Carcassonne which we unfortunately weren't able to visit on our one night stop.
Pool and restaurant were not open.

Can’t disagree with previous reviews. Rustiques by name and rustic by pitch type. Large and tall hedges where we were on lower area, more open at the top. Woodland type of site. Still 6 amp but no problem if care is taken with electricity use. Pool very nice and open in June. Claimed to be 22 deg but un heated.
Restaurant only in July August. The free historic tour is very detailed and translated into many languages by enthusiastic passionate guide in exchange for voluntary donation at small museum of mainly ceramic and glass shards etc from bygone civilisations. Kids and those with low boredom threshold would not find it gripping, but the guy knows his stuff.
WiFi is free over 80% of site, (a booster helps) and is ok but very slow upload speed for photos. Very clean older loos. Dutch predominate on site in June. 2. 5 km downhill to Canal du Midi - towpaths ok but rough for cycling in both directions with gravel and sandstone dust surface. Might be mucky when wet.
Supermarkets in Trebes at 2km from site. Good site to tour the area. Happy to recommend. Site well signposted.

Delightful campsite with chickens running free. Pitches large but all different layouts. 6 amp kept tripping and our plug in point was the other side of hedge. Owner very friendly and helpful. Very near to Carcassonne. Shops within easy reach. Toilet blocks unisex very clean. Washing machine, washing up sinks. Ban on open flames (candles etc) very sensible. Area very dry and forest fires in other parts of France. Great site.

This is truly a hidden gem. Very friendly owner. Large spacious pitches. Sanitaires were very smart and clean with plenty of hot water. Cannot comment on bar & swimming pool as these were not open whilst we were there - in fact there was only one other pitch occupied during our visit. Wi-Fi was free but you had to be by pool or bar area to connect.
Rustiques is a lovely old hamlet and there is a Belgian (dressed like a Crusader) who does historical walks in various languages - starting from the campsite - details from owner - duration two hours.
There is an Intermarche a 5 min drive from the site and a Super you in Trebes (we never found this). We cycled from the site to Canal du Midi (about 10\15 mins) and then cycled the pathway to Carcassone one day and went in other direction next day.
No shops in the hamlet but there is a delightful coiffure - having been on the road for 8 weeks I availed myself of her services.

Based on the edge of Rustique, a little village seven miles from Carcassonne in the Aude this site is in the heart of the Corbiere's wine producing countryside. If you like Caravan Club uniformity this site isn’t for you. When we arrived, just on lunch time, the site owner came out of his bungalow and told us to choose a pitch and he would come and mow it if it were in the lower section as they hadn’t been mown yet. The top section had been mown and had a small toilet block but the bigger one in the lower section was being renovated. We found a pitch which was big enough to house two pitches just opposite the toilet block in the upper section so didn’t need to disturb his lunch any more. The toilets were very clean but of course the site was nearly empty. When we arrived there were just four other caravans on site and this fluctuated during our one week stay between two and eight. The electric is 6amps and I asked if it were possible to pay for extra but he said no, but if 6amps wasn’t enough to plug into two supplies! A huge plus for me was free wifi around the reception area. From the bar/reception there are lovely views but you can’t see these from the pitches as the site is hedged round. There is a swimming pool for the summer months but it wasn't open in May. The site owner was very friendly and helpful. I would love to return.
