 We travelled to Noirmoutiere en Ile in our motor home last week. We had intended to stay a the Indigo site but the pitches that were left available were either in full shade or very difficult to level, so we decided to look at Le Clair Matin which is a municipal camp site next door. What a find, it was magical, very friendly staff and really helpful. The pitches varied in size but we had a very large one. The ablution blocks were spacious and clean. Although you don't have direct access to the beach you just walk out of the site and through the public access paths which pass through the trees and you are out onto the beaches. The sand is fine and clean, the sea is perfect and there are lots of small fishing boats in the bay. The position of the camp site means that you can walk along the beaches to the next bays where you can find both casual and smart restaurants.
We also walked into the capital where there are a very good choice of shops, including 2 wonderful fresh fish shops, a couple of great bakers and a small Super U. We walked back from there along the estuary, a car free zone which has a lot of salt pans to the left which is the home to a lot of different birds. We also had our boxer dog with us who was welcomed everywhere! The site had free WiFi at the communal reception area. We stayed here for 4 nights and would return in a heart beat.
