The site is about 1 mile from Parliament Square in Ramsey and is an Idyllic setting. Ground maintenance is very good and the motorhome pitches we stayed on have 16amp power and appear to be grass covered gravel but needed chocks to almost level Moho. Methinks we need bigger chocks like some regular users had.
We stayed here for 5 days in August last year and saw that there was a new extension almost completed to the aged male/female small block adjacent to the pitches and booked for this year expecting it to be in service.
Unfortunately it wasn't, it was explained that the volunteer who was doing the work had a back problem which meant once again we only had the basic single Wc/shower and 3 WHB's with no hot water to any of the WHB's close to our pitches. There is a larger amenity block 200yds up the hill which is in a "slightly" better condition, but we choose not to use as it was a walk over a wet field or by the perimeter service track.
To be positive we were close to the bins, grey water/elsan disposal and fresh water supply which made light work of maintaining things to the Moho over the 23 night stay to catch up with family in Ramsey and to take in the TT.
In conclusion The aged amenities blocks let down what could be a fantastic site but part of the sites charm is it's quiet and this could be lost with better facilities so if you can adapt to them then I would say pay your money and suck it up but if you like modern facilities and a bustling site then Crossags might not be your cup of tea.
We were welcomed immediately upon arrival and given all necessary instructions.
Convenient site (but still felt secluded) with ample amenities- including toilet block with showers, chemical / waste area and lodge with kettle / toaster!
