This site is NOT operating any more and the signs at the entrance have been taken down.
We previously stayed here just after the COVID shutdown so we knew of it's existence.
However, despite the closure, the owner very kindly allowed us to stay to allow us to visit the nearby well-known Harvey's pub for Sunday lunch.

We arrived late due to not being able to access another nearby site. Owners was helpful, giving us a choice of hardstanding.
As previously mentioned the pub at Blackboys is lovely and a nice walk. Great site for walking.
Need your own facilities, but no problem for us, and we found the peace and quiet lovely, saw a flock of Redwings. The farmhouse is lovely and the site is kept immaculate.
The entrance is not marked, look out for a large brick wall and iron gates as you go down the brow of the hill about quarter of mile past the village sign ( coming from the A22).

This is the second time we have visited this site. It is ideally situated for exploring East Sussex. Last year, the owner was still putting in a new access road, so one of the fields was a bit of a mess, but this year it is perfect.
It is huge, consisting of one large field adjacent to a sheep meadow which is designated as a CL, and one even larger field just behind, which is a regular campsite. It has absolutely no amenities except electricity and water and rubbish collection points.
This is easily the best site we have stayed on this year from our perspective, as we have our own facilities in our motorhome and prefer to be on quiet sites. There were ten units on site the week we were there and I would estimate about 200 metres between each unit!
The site adjoins the Wealden Way and the Vanguard Way, and there are endless walks from the site. You can go out through the fields at the back of the site and just nearby there is open access land where you can wander at will, and a farm which is being managed in order to support wildlife. It is lovely countryside, and as quiet and peaceful as you could wish for.
In addition, there is a 15th century pub two minutes away by car, the Blackboys Inn, which has a large garden, unbelievable atmosphere and great chips and beer!
We highly recommend this site for walkers, for anyone going to Glyndebourne, for anyone who loves peace and quiet and has their own facilities, and it is very dog-friendly as well!

We found that it had changed hands in January of this year. This explained the difficulty in finding it - when approaching from the south there is no sign at all, and only a single, easy-to-miss one coming the other way! So to help, until their new signs are organised, if you approach Blackboys on the B2192 from the south, then the site is an impressive gated entrance on the right, a matter of yards before the 50-mph speed limit and Blackboys combined sign. And make sure they tell you the code to open the gates when you book in! We paid £12 per night for the caravan, extra £2 for awning.
It was a lovely weekend. The site is very quiet, there were only a dozen vans in the main field, well spaced out. The field isn't very level - the hump in the middle meant we could only see the rooves of 2 or 3 of the other vans! But the edges aren't too bad, and it is extremely well kept. Flocks of visiting mallard ducks enlivened our stay, and a friendly owners' dog. Lots of places to visit in the area. We were lucky enough to catch the Ringmer Steam Fair, and also visited the site of the old Royal Greenwich Observatory at Hurstmoncieux. We also though of doing the Bluebell Railway, Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum, Mayfield village (home of St Dunstan when he was a blacksmith) and others, but a weekend just isn't long enough!
A number of the other campers appeared to be regulars, in fact one's caravan was fetched from a storage area and sited and levelled ready for his arrival. They were all friendly. A couple of families with young children - and plenty of space to run about!
We are most certainly likely to use the site again.

We visited the site for a weekend. We have 3 young children and like to pop away for the weekend not too far from home. The site was lovely and spacious and very well maintained. Owners were pleasant and the kids loved the ducks on the site and the owners small dog was very friendly. The Farmers market in Uckfield was very nice (held the first Saturday of each month) and Birdineye Farm just up the road has a home reared butchery where we bought some lovely steak.
The only downside was that even though the site wasn't busy the 1pm departure time was strict and although it would have been nice to stay into the afternoon we couldn't warrant another nights fee.
We would highly recommend the site to anybody and will definitely be going back.

This is a very peaceful site and the owners are very friendly. I pitch up on grass close to electric hookup. The elsan disposal was very clean but just to say there are no facilities so own sanitation is essential. Lovely pub down the road. We did take our two young children 2 & 5. It was so quiet we were worried about making too much noise but the kids were well behaved thank goodness. We would definitely go back again.

We have just returned home from a wonderful weekend at this site. The owners are extremely pleasant and helpful. They even let us stay for as long as wanted on the Sunday instead of leaving at 12 as normal. The site is set in lovely farmland where rabbits, sheep and daft ducks roam free. There are two parts to the site. One for CC members which holds 5 vans and the other for non members which holds a good deal more. If you want a relaxing rural break then this is the site for you. It is near to the Historic Town of Lewes and close enough to the seaside towns of Eastbourne and Brighton.

Just spent an idyllic weekend at this beautiful peaceful site. There were only about 14 caravans in a very large field (not sure if tents are allowed). The grass was in better shape than our lawn. Ducks visit you fro the nearby lake and there are lovely walks direct from the site. Owner very friendly. Many of the caravans are stored at the site and the owner brings them out and pitches them for you when you book a weekend. I did feel quite young - I was 50 last week - this site probably suit the older caravanner.
