Stayed here for a couple of nights in our Folding Camper.
A small well kept basic site with great owners.
EHU's spaced around the field with good space between the pitches.
Improvements have been made since the last visit which all help.
5 minute walk from the local pub, a short walk to the nearest chip shop and on the way you pass the local village shop.
There is only one WC, but a Waste water drain and bins to include recycling.
The ground is fairly soft so care has to be taken not to get stuck.
A hardcore drive is down one side of the field so motor homes can stay safe on there if needed.
This site is more suited to elder people because there is nothing for youngsters to do on site or in the locality.
We will definitely return!

This site is remarkably rural considering the proximity to New Mills. Around two sides are a stream which adds a pleasing sound of water to drown out any traffic. To the other sides are a riding stable and a field. So very peaceful.
Facilities are basic, with the loo a bit of a walk from the field, but a superb walk thorough the owner's garden, lit with multicoloured solar lights at night. The loo was spotless, but has no hot water and no shower, which is a shame for those in tents.
A fish and chip shop is 5 minutes walk up the hill and it is 2 mins off the Sett Valley Way a cycling and walking route from New Mills to Hayfield along the old railway.
It's difficult to mark customer service as our booking was done by email as the owners were out. So we didn't actually meet them. However all was done professionally, the site was spotless and the garden walk a wonderful bonus, so they must be nice people!

Lovely well kept level site with very friendly owner. Lots of detail in previous review that I won't repeat but entirely agree. Sadly we had atrocious weather while we were there and worried we might get bogged down but had no problem at all. Apart from basics of water and electricity there is also a toilet alongside the house, basic but clean, so really useful as we had a few visitors while we were there. Just one thing to be careful of is the very narrow entrance. Not so much of a problem with a small 'van or motorhome but we have a big outfit and it was a bit tight to say the least. Nothing that can't be coped with but you just need to be careful to take a wide berth!

Westfield House Farm is ideally located at the side of the River Sett near the village of Thornsett where there is a pub with beer garden. The site has a well maintained level field with good shelter from the wind but with an open aspect to one side so you can still enjoy a sunny pitch. There is a chemical disposal point under cover and convenient water points on the field. There are chickens on site and freshly laid eggs can be bought. Turn right out of the site entrance and you will find the Sett Valley Trail, a traffic free cycle/walking/riding route between Hayfield and New Mills. Further up the road there is a shop and a chip shop, both within walking or cycling distance.
Hayfield is a scenic village and popular walking base whilst New Mills is convenient for shops, pubs, takeaways etc. A regular town at first glance but hidden far below is a beautiful gorge where you can walk the Millenium walkway and view the Torrs riverside park. Don't miss it. There are also 2 railway stations, Central on the Hope Valley Line between Manchester and Sheffield and Newtown between Manchester and Buxton. This means the campsite is an excellent holiday base for a variety of days out.
