Peace and relaxation guaranteed at Henfryn Farm:
A pretty little paddock sited off a narrow lane
Beside a red brick farm,
Where slopes and sheltering hedge help tame prevailing winds and rain-
A place of peace and calm.
A brace of noble fir trees whisper gently in the breeze
Below the wide Welsh skies,
With wondrous views beyond them, patchwork fields, and hills, and trees-
Above, a buzzard flies.
I gaze out of my window over clover-studded lawns,
And let my mind roam free
Across this rich and verdant place, which wraps me in its arms,
And brings such peace to me.

Having not long left this site it really is a gem. We were on the site with only one other caravan on there making it very peaceful, just what we prefer. All pitches are nice spaced out and all give excellent views. The grass is cut to a nice low level so no longer bits to contend with. All have electric hook up close by so no need to be stretching a 25m hook up cable. Water and waste points are also all near by whatever pitch you choose.
The toilet is a small toilet attached to the side of the farm house which is kept clean and there's a little information hut with leaflets, books and a few DVDs.
Access to the site is good but the lane down is single track and goes down to the site, it is however a very quiet road. We were on the pitch right by the road and cars passing even in the day is very rare.
There is a lovely dog walk down the hill then through and along by the stream and up some steps but it is steep down and back up. Well worth it though.
Denbigh is a very nice village to go around with a morrisons and a lidl and plenty of nice small shops and cafes, as well as takeaways.
The reservoir down the road is a nice walk with views all round and a plesent cafe.
If you want peace and quiet to relax then this site is perfect.
Website does say £12 a night however it is now £14 a night.
I can never really rate child friendlyness as we have no children however if a nice small field is good for your children then you won't have any problems. There is however no play parks on site.

All caravaners are different, and what we look for from a site will be very different too. In my case I like small, quiet and simple sites in beautiful areas with good dog walking facilities, If that sounds good to you, then Henfryn is a hidden gem waiting for your visit.
The site is at Groes, just few miles from Denbigh, and with easy access to the north Wales coast, the Clocaenog forests and local towns like Ruthin and Mold. This CL site itself is a gently sloping grass field with ample space for 5 vans and the views from the site across the Clwyd hills are superb. Facilities on site are basic with just a single toilet and information hut, but all pitches have electric hook-ups and easy access to water points. No shower block, shop or children's play area - and that is just fine by me! Site charges were just £12 per night inc electric.
The site is immediately next to a country lane, but this has very little traffic (none at night) so it is extremely quiet and peaceful with just the sounds of the countryside to keep you company. On the other side of the lane is a small forest with a wonderful walk alongside a gentle stream - but be warned, to get down to the stream involves a steep decent so both you and your dogs do need to be reasonably fit. It's well worth the effort though.
All the services you need are nearby in Denbigh, which has both Morrisons and Lidl supermarkets along with a host of smaller shops, restaurants etc. TV reception was fine on the standard caravan aerial and mobile phone reception was excellent on vodaphone and adequate on 3 and EE
One tip for dog owners - when returning to the site through Denbigh, look for a lay-by on the main road just after leaving the town and pull in. In the corner is a footpath walk leading to a small forest, or up to a superb viewpoint if you prefer, either one being ideal to give your dog a last run before returning to the site.
