Very peaceful, small site, with beautiful views over Muncaster Fell.
Friendly owner.
Goats, chickens & ducks roaming free.
Facilities are dated, but very clean.

Michael the owner was very friendly. The site was full when we were there and the caravanners kept to themselves, we tried to make conversation but they weren't interested.
We were pitch 5, directly opposite where the cows, ate, urinated and pooed and because we happened to stay in the heat wave, the flies and smell were overpowering at times. They also woke everyone up at 5am each morning.
The farm is about 30mins walk from Ravenglass, again in the heat that we were in was too hot to walk. We managed one day and took the steam train from Ravenglass to Dalegarth which was good.
Facilities on the site where good although the drinking water should be labelled as there was 3 taps, none with signs and I saw them all used to rinse the toilet out.
The tap near pitch 5 looked like drinking water and the tenters used it to fill the water bottles up, but it was used by a caravanner to rinse his toilet even though it was 20m from elsen.
This site is not for everyone. We knew it was a working farm and the views are amazing, in cooler weather it would be perfect to walk, cycle and hike.
We wouldn't return, but we rarely return anywhere as we like visiting different places. It is more suited to people with cars. The holiday cottages looked nice.

Beautiful location near the sea. Everything you need but with the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere.
The shower was super hot and clean.
The owners were lovely.
We really enjoyed our stay and would most certainly stay again.

Lovely site with a pleasant owner, nice relaxed informative welcome. Told us everything we needed to know. Only our van and my sister and her husbands van on the site, so the toilet and shower room were like our own personal on suite.
The views from the site looking over towards Wastwater are breathtaking.
The walk into Ravenglass by the sea ( not the road )is very enjoyable.
We took the train "Lal Ratty" up to Eskdale and walk up to Stanley force. Very memorable walk with lots to see on the way. Went into lovely pub and sat in the sun before the journey back on the train.
No shops close by, but we take everything we need for a few days. , and prefer it this way
We were disappointed that Muncaster castle wasn't open, and wished we had checked before hand.
The weather for March was super so this made it all the better.
There are lots of things to do from this site

A beautiful site on a working farm. Ducks wandering and a friendly pheasant.
Overlooking beautiful Scafell and other mountains, couldn't have wished for more.
Very friendly owners who couldn't do enough for you.
Within easy travelling distance of all of the Lakes tourist attractions.
Extremely cheap for the Lake District.
Well worth a visit and highly recommended. Thanks for an enjoyable and memorable stay.
See you next time we're up your way

We have been going here every year for 7 years with the exception of last year due to lock down.
Lovely site in a fantastic area. No every ones cup of tea, small, quiet (except it is a working farm so lots of farm noise)
Just over 1 mile walk to the lovely village of Ravenglass. Close to Eskdale & Wasdale Close to lovely beaches.

A basic site but with great views and really well placed for Ravenglass and Muncaster castle and the Ravenglass steam railway trip.
Some signage on the road would be nice but what it lacks in sophistication, it more than makes up for with friendliness and quietness.

A great little camp site. The owner, Michael, is very friendly. Amazing views from the campsite of the sand dunes, the beautiful Esk valley and mountains of west Cumbria. There is an electricity pylon close by which slightly detracts from the beautiful views. Great for walking & cycling. Close to (20mins walk) the beautiful village of Ravenglass and to the sand dunes& estuary. The beaches are lovely and very quiet. Small shops locally but best to arrive with supplies as are a long way from bigger shops. If you like Cumberland sausage or pork their is a fantastic pork butcher in Waberthwaite (10 mins drive) which is by appointment to the Queen for their Cumberland Sausage, 98% meat. The pubs in Ravenglass are great, one is really good if you like sea food. The Eskdale Railway (The Lal Rattie) is well worth a trip. Get off at one of the stations and either walk or cycle back to Ravenglass is a great adventure, especially with children. Close to mountains including Scarfell Pike, the highest mountain in England. Small clean toilet & shower.
