 We stayed here for one night on the way through from the Netherlands to the Baltic coast.
We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful with good English spoken. There wasn't a barrier in use during our stay but the parking/waiting area was quite a walk away from the reception. Like many sites in Germany, they don't take Visa/Mastercard, payment was cash or Maestro/EC cards only. Payment is on departure.
There are plenty of pitches, those down by the river without EHU, those on the main site are with EHU if you want it, the electric is charged for separately depending on the amount used (meter read on departure). Once you've selected your pitch and you want EHU, go back to reception, tell them which pitch you're on and they'll come and connect you into the locked distribution box. The connection requires a continental two-pin adaptor - they did have some of these available in reception if you haven't got one! Some of the distribution boxes are quite away from the pitches - we needed two leads.
The pitch on grass was firm, level and spacious and we were able to select our own pitch. The amenities block was well equipped and spotlessly clean.
Bread could be ordered from the small shop by reception. It was about a 15-20 minute walk into the town which has restaurants and supermarkets.
For those interested in history or making a pilgrimage, the site is about 10 minutes from the Bergen-Belsen Memorial where it is possible to park motorhomes on the car-park.
We would use this site again if touring in this area.
