Great campsite within walking distance of the lovely town of Horb am Neckar.
Lots of on-site facilities including play areas, pool, shop and restaurant.
Toilets and showers were immaculate. Lovely bread rolls available to order from Reception.
Good location for visiting Burg Hohenzollern.
Helpful staff who were able to speak English as our German is not the best!
Hope to stay again for longer next time.

To find site:- This site can be approached from Heidelberg on the B37 or from junction 33 on the A6 Autobahn. From Heidelberg continue to Neckargemünd on the B37 once past the Bahnhof watch out for signs pointing to the left into Post Strasse and then turn right at end of road to the campsite. If this is missed you can continue to the bridge, get in right hand lane for Kleingemünd/Eberbach and immediately take slip road (by bus stop) down to car park and under bridge to site. From junction 33 take B45 to Neckargemünd. Either continue into Bahnhof Strasse and turn right at sign or approach bridge and use slip road as above.
This campsite has around 100 touring pitches which seemed to be used by either overnighters or those staying a little longer. The site has a lovely location situated on the banks of the River Neckar and the pitches directly on the river are sought after but command a small extra nightly premium of €2. 50. Pitches are around 80 sq mts which is not large and can give the site a crowded feel when full. Pitches are allocated but your preferred location is discussed before a decision is made. The site is mainly open but there are some trees along the back of the site and along the river bank offering limited shade. Important to remember that the site does not allow any form of ground sheets to be used in order to preserve the grass. Electric points are situated down the centre of the site and use CEE17 blue connectors and are rated at 16amps. From some pitches you may need a long lead. In the past leads had been locked in the boxes but now the sockets are on the outside of the box. However usage is monitored by reception and a metered charge made beyond the daily kilowatt allowance if making use of the ACSI Card. Drinking water is available at the motorhome service point as is disposal of grey water waste. There are two toilet blocks. The main one is situated in the middle of the site and access is up a steep flight of stairs to all facilities including dish washing. It is of a good quality although some might not like the opaque glass doors on the showers? A second, newer, toilet block situated near the entrance but still up steps. There is disabled provision at ground level. There is also a chemical toilet emptying point here. One change we have noticed since our first visit in 2005 is that the bar/restaurant/shop is now a separate entity from the reception. Bread can be ordered if required. Reception is housed in a converted road mans shelter and if there is no one there they usually appear from somewhere on site. Cash is the only form of payment accepted. There is some local information available here including time tables for the river steamers. WiFi is available on site and time can be purchased from reception. The River Neckar is still a working river with barges making their way up to Stuttgart, so expect a little river traffic noise, as gentle as it is.
This site is very convenient for a visit to Heidelberg (a must) and you have several options for getting there. Train and bus are nearby but if you want a treat go by boat which takes about an hour and includes negotiating a couple of locks. It is an easy walk into Neckargemünd where there is a choice of several restaurants and shops. The nearest supermarkets are on the other side of the river across the bridge, both Aldi and REWE are represented, the latter accepting credit cards. They can be reached by car or foot or by bike along dedicated cycle ways.
