 One of our favourite sites so far in three months touring. Very rustic so go well stocked with food as little shopping in area. Site is undivided, just open terraces with tree planting for shade. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful organising barbecues, walks etc. We walked every day using routes provide by the site. Countryside quite wild and unspoilt, very enjoyable of this is to your taste. Back from walks to cool of in good sized pool and drinks with locals in the campsite bar. Toilet blocks are a little dated but very well maintained and cleaned. Shame it seems to have been overlooked by Brits, we only saw two other GB vans in five days, as it is a lovely little site if you enjoy quiet rural peace.

This site had been recommended to us by a British couple in 2013 and we were not disappointed. Out of the 20 or so sites we stayed on during our 3-month tour this was my favourite and we would like to return at some stage. They have many repeat clients some of whom are now looking to buy property in the area. Pitching is on gentle terraces, on grass, with no specific numbers as there is plenty of space. Trees and vegetation offer shade. Several toilet blocks and the one near us was always clean. Nice pool area near the reception/bar area. It is the husband and wife owners that really made it for us though, right from the time we arrived until we left. On arrival we were handed a sheet with useful information about the site and the local area. The day we arrived they organised a barbecue when we were all sat at long tables on the terrace which was ideal for meeting fellow campers. Food was very good and the evening most memorable. We also attended a buffet evening on another date. Pretty much each day they offer something to do with food included which was ideal for those in motorhomes who prefer their vehicle to stay in situ. The local people were very friendly too - they came on site to use the bar - a total stranger offered to buy my OH a drink! Local tradesmen visit on different days offering their goods such as bread, fruit, vegetables, cooked chicken. Wifi was available around the bar, which was slow at times but free. Laundry service available rather that self-operated machines. Using one of the itineraries from reception, we had a day out exploring the Douro wine area which was excellent.
