We spent 9 nights here. Its a big campsite, one of 3 campsites beside the gorgeous Montalvo beach. It's a family owned site. The owners speak excellent English and are very friendly and extremely helpful.
We were shown a few pitches and we were allowed to chose which was best for us. The one we chose was large enough for our VW camper, a shelter and 2 tents. It had shade.
Each pitch has a sink, the reason for this, I think, is that the site is on a steep hill, so carrying basins of dishes up and down could be difficult. A number of pitches have their own toilet and shower, this is at an extra cost.
There are 4 sanitary blocks, varying in size, all spotlessly clean. You need to provide your own toilet paper and soap. The showers are powerful and the temperature can be easily regulated.
The site is taken up, about 75%, by seasonal campers, who are very clever in how they utilise all the space on their pitch and create shade. We found everyone to be very welcoming and friendly. The touring pitches are clustered together.
The site has a nice swimming pool, which was a bit of a luxury as the beach is so close. There are no loungers or space to sit out by the pool, so most people come for a swim and leave again, so the pool was never crowded when we were there.
There's a bar, restaurant and a very good supermarket facing out on to the road, so that everyone can use them, not just campers.
The site is about a 25 minute walk from the town of Portonova, along a lovely coastal path. The town has plenty of shops, a great indoor fish and vegetable market, an old town with bars, restaurants and the port area with a lively market and lots of water activities. There is a bus stop just outside the campsite which operates a circular route, passing the campsite every hour.
We did some cycling here, we cycled to the island of O Grove (San Vicente do Grove), about 40 minutes along a mix of road and cycle lanes. There is a bridge over to the island, which has beautiful beaches and lots of campsites.
There are so many blue flag beaches along the coast here, so you are spoilt for choice. As we were at the top of the campsite, we had a lovely view out to sea. The coastline here is spectacular.
We had very hot weather when we were here, no rain.
We really enjoyed our stay here, we would have liked to explore the area a bit more, but we really enjoyed spending time on the beaches and in the pool. This just means that we will have to return to this area, which I look forward to. Our adult children flew in to Santiago airport which is 50 minutes away. We didn't get to see the city, but it would be an easy drive from the campsite.

A gem of a site.
We toured Spain and Portugal as a family in our motorhome in July this year and I was looking for a suitable site to spend 3 nights on the Atlantic coast in Galicia in the area known as the Rias Baixes. I emailed several sites with no reply, then I saw this site, I looked at the website and it looked good. I emailed them and received a quick reply, looking forward to seeing us with no deposit, no forms to fill in. We arrived at the site on what is a stunning coast. I walked in Reception and was greeted by my name, with very friendly staff. They showed me to a specially allocated, perfectly level pitch for our 8m motorhome, which was perfect. The site is very nicely laid out with beautiful plants and palm trees and very clean. The toilet blocks are large nicely tiled and kept clean continuously. There are laundry and dishwashing facilities also. There is a supermarket which we used and restaurant on site, which we did not use but looked very good. The large stunning Montalvo beach is adjacent to the site, it is safe and has lifeguards. We walked in to Portonovo in about 20 minutes where there are lots of shops and restaurants and a regular market. There is a harbour and marina also. There is a bus if you did not want to walk. There were mainly seasonal and semi permanent pitches on the site but were all kept very tidy. The site has tennis and basketball courts a play area and very nice swimming pool, which we used. The site was busy at the weekend but this was no problem as it was mostly Spanish families. We met one other British couple who were staying on the site and like us thought it was a great find.
I would certainly recommend this site to anyone touring this area.
