 As the prices of club sites seem to be going up and up, we decided to try a CL for the first time. This one is only an hour from home so we thought if we hate it, we can always just go home. We were greeted on arrival by the owner who was very courteous and directed us to the CL.
The site is part of a small development containing a B&B, some holiday cottages, the CL and another camping field which just appears to take tents.
The CL had 5 hardstanding pitches which were very close together at one end (3 on one side and 2 opposite) and a large grassy area at the other. If all 5 hardstandings had been in use, it probably would have felt very crowded but the hardstanding pitch between us and the next van was not being used which made it feel more spacious.
A small campervan was using the large grassy area rather than a hardstanding which explains why the hardstanding was not in use. Each hardstanding has an EHU nearby but if you want to pitch on the grassy end of the site, you will need an extra long cable.
Additionally, if you want to put up an awning you can’t be on the grassy area as there are underground wires which are something to do with the robot lawnmower and you are not allowed to put pegs in the ground. However, awnings are fine on the hardstanding pitches.
The whole site, not just the CL, is beautifully kept. There is a little robot grass cutter that runs about all day keeping the grass trimmed and the owner is happy for you to walk in his beautifully manicured garden. There is a large pond in the CL field and the owner has put a little arbour with a bench inside and a summerhouse with a table and 2 comfy chairs beside the pond for visitors to use.
There is a drinking water tap a short distance from the pitches and a chemical disposal point nearby and the owner told us to just drain our wastewater into the hedge behind the pitch.
There are also 3 wooden sheds, 2 of which contain a flushing toilet and one a shower for anyone who needs them. We prefer to use our own shower but the one on site looked perfectly adequate and the toilets were perfectly usable even though they were basic.
We really enjoyed our stay and it has been a very positive introduction to CLs. If they are all as nice as Manor Farm we will be using them more often at half the price of a CMC site.

Very nice cl in lovely location facilities more than adequate for a cl. Owners friendly and helpful. Good area for walks and places to visit. If you want peace and tranquility this is the place for you.
