This site is just west of North Kilworth in Leicestershire near Lutterworth. We used it mainly as a base for visiting family in Coventry and Birmingham otherwise we probably wouldn't have considered spending our Easter holiday in Leicestershire (nothing against the county but it's doesn't sound very inspiring!). In actual fact we were pleasantly surprised. The site overlooks a fishing lake and was very peaceful (until we came along with our two year old twins, that is - although I think our caravan must be very well insulated because the couple next door in the motorhome said they hadn't heard a peep from them the whole time).
The site has some static's in the next field along but hardly anyone seemed to be using them. The only disadvantage was that the site sloped down towards the lake. Luckily we managed to find a level space mainly on gravel right at the front overlooking the lake but it was quite an effort for other vehicles to tow their caravans up the slope because the ground was quite muddy. Actually it was quite entertaining watching other cars take a run-up to get their caravans up. We're sure once you were up there you probably had a lovely view of the lake but we haven't got a very powerful car and we were quite happy to stay at the bottom. Also, we didn't have to bother about leveling our caravan which is something we haven't attempted yet.
This site would be perfect for fishing at a caravan site, you could pitch up and set up your fishing gear a few yards away and pop back for a cup of tea anytime.
The site is near to Foxton Canal Locks which, I believe, are ten locks all next to each other so you can watch the boats struggling to go up or down the canal. Also, Bosworth Battlefield is nearby and Althorp not too far away. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit any of these because of visiting relatives but we did visit Coombe Abbey near Coventry which is a country park I would recommend to anyone staying in the area.
There is a Caravan Club site nearby at Stanford Park, Lutterworth which we tried to get into but they were only taking so many caravans because of the ground and we were too late booking so we have no idea what the site is like. Maybe another time.
Kilworth Caravan Park was only £7.50 a night (without hook-up) over the Easter weekend so it didn't break the bank. There are not many facilities, only toilets and showers, but the wardens were very pleasant. And the local pub in North Kilworth were offering to transport you to the pub and back for a meal which could have been quite useful.
