We chose this site on the strength of the previous reviews, and are very glad we did. All the positives are still there - friendly, helpful owners, very well maintained pitches and facilities, choose your own pitch, 10 amp electricity supply close to pitches, plentiful water points around the site, the covered and outdoor pools etc etc!
The site is fairly open, with the slightly sloping, grass pitches grouped in different areas, divided by low vegetation and enough trees to provide shade when needed. There are quite a lot of smallish mobile homes hired out by the site or privately owned but these are generally on the other side of the site to the touring pitches. When we arrived in mid-June the site was relatively empty but although it gradually filled up over the time we were there it was still calm and peaceful, day and night. There was a good mix of nationalities, French, German, Dutch, British, Irish and Belgian.
The location is lovely and the easy access to the beach and the port is a real bonus. There are also various paths through the wood (polder), handy for walking the dog off lead, and a coastal path that links the beach and the port via the headland in one direction, and runs behind the 5kms of beach around the bay in the other. There are many headlands, coves, beaches and coastal paths within a few miles, and it’s a short drive into Benodet, across the bridge (worth parking up and walking part way across), to see the view from the other side! There are also plenty of opportunities for cycling in the area.
Thank you previous reviewers for recommending this site.

Just back from a weeks stay at this lovely site. When we arrived we were able to choose our own pitch. Campsite was fairly busy on the Saturday but the following day it emptied out, it may have been a French holiday. From then on we had lots of empty pitches around us and the campers were made up of Dutch, German and English. Indoor pool was great for this time of year as although the weather was good the outdoor one was chilly. The snack bar didn't open as out of season but we could get bread and croissants each morn. There was a bouncy castle and two trampolines for the kids. Toilets and showers very good. Take your own loo roll. It was a very peaceful campsite. Not getting dark until 11 pm this time of year you could sit outside till then ( we had lovely weather ) or take a stroll down to the beach or harbour. Both are really close. There are a few restaurants at the harbour, a bakery and small deli type supermarket on the way. Two supermarkets within a 10 min drive although we couldn't find them on the Sunday and drove to Quimper where everything is shut. The super you in combrit and carrefour in benodet do open in the morning on a Sunday ! Owners are very friendly and could not have been nicer, they are doing a great job. This is a great site to just relax or to use as a base for day trips out and about. Quimper, Concarneau, Pointe de Penmarc'h and Carnac ( a bit further ) we visited. One of the nicest sites we've stayed at. Excellent free wi fi

We've enjoyed a fabulous 2 week stay at this lovely site. It's exactly what we were looking for: easy 10 min walk to the beach, 15 minute walk to the pretty port, plenty of cycle paths, quiet location, well looked after with really friendly owners. The only thing negative about the whole stay is that the second week the weather has not been as good as the first but it's hard to blame that on the site!
As with most French sites I think, there's a small shop on site to order bread, croissants etc for breakfast and get that bottle of wine or cider you forgot. 10 mins in the car to a perfectly suitable supermarket. The site facilities look excellent (we don't use the showers or toilets as we have all that on board but they look spotlessly clean). 10A electric was fine once we turned the water heater down to 1KW (😂😂) and no trouble with hair driers etc after that. Excellent wifi throughout the site too which is a bonus.
All in all a great find and I'm sure we'll be back for a return visit.

Pleasant friendly reception. We had a choice of grassy fairly level pitches, some of which were rather soft. The owner comes along in his golf cart to connect your electric, as the boxes are locked. There are water points at intervals amongst pitches. Clean san facs, loos are all outside so a bit chilly in cold weather. Loo seats and soap but no paper or drier. There's a heated indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool, both open from the beginning of April. Free wifi. A 300 metre walk via a security gate and through fields takes you down to a beautiful long sandy bay backed by low dunes. From there you can join the coast path which in one direction will take you to the attractive port of Sainte-Marine, which has cafes and creperies. You can also walk less than 1 km to the port from the site gate, passing a boulangerie on the way. An attractive site in a great location with helpful and friendly owners. We Paid €15. 88 a night with ACSI.

Just back from Le Helles and agree with everything that Judi S says in her review. This site was a great find with outdoor and a brand new indoor pool, large pitches and good facilities.
The site was almost full when we arrived at the beginning of August but toilets and showers coped and stayed clean. Toilet paper is not provided as is usual. We made good use of the laundry and there is also a mobile creperie that visits
We were on pitch 90 and had ehu and a hire fridge. Our large pescara 8 had no problems fitting on the pitch with room for the car and tarp. The kids spent their time on the trampolines or in the pool. WiFi was excellent as were the Charmey family.
Access to the beach is via a coded gate open between 7 and 11. The town is a 10 minute stroll and there is a ferry across the river to Benodet. ATM is in Benodet or at the Combrit super U. Tons of information was supplied on arrival including maps.
In total we stayed for 16 days, spending every second day on site. It was just right for us. It didn't feel packed though it was full and we went to sleep with the sound of waves on the beach and woke up to the wood pigeons.
We loved the site and Sainte Marine and will be going back.

Stayed for 10 nights after planning 1 as it is such a great little site that accepts ACSI cards out of season making it amazing value too. The overall impression is one of peace and quiet with direct access down a 300 yard tree lined path to a typical long Brittany beach, white soft sand.
On site are 2 fab pools, one outdoor and one covered together with a small children's play ground and trampoline. A small bar and take away are open from the start of July.
Madam and Monsieur Charmaine the owners are a delight and will bend over backwards to help in any way they can. Some English is spoken at reception and the usual bread ordering facility is offered together with a small selection of non perishable goods ice creams and post cards available.
The toilet and shower facilities are kept very clean with plenty of hot water all day. Washing machines, tumble dryers and ironing boards also available.
A walk of about 15 mins will take you to the pretty harbour and a small supermarket. Nice bike rides to be had locally too.
The nearest big supermarket for food and fuel is about 3 miles away.
I will be returning to this site again next year as it offers just what you need to relax and charge the batteries.
