We went to this site unplanned after leaving the bad weather in the Alps.
Sites on a slope but with terraced level pitches. Good selection of shadey, part shadey or full sun pitches. Hard standing. Very relaxed reception staff. No deposit or payment required until departure. No English spoken, in fact the site looked to be totally occupied by French campers bar one other Brit family. Many seem to be regulars with caravans stored by the site. It had an almost village feel.
Restaurant & bar by reception but we didn't try the food. Looked ok & was always full of folk. Entertainment was put on some nights which can be heard at the furthest ends of the site but didn't go on too late.
Croissants, bread etc delivered to site each morning - need to pre-order.
Toilet blocks were very clean. We used a small supplementary block nearer the tent. Need your own bog-roll. Unisex proper toilets plus pissoire.
Free wifi around reception & available site wide for a fee - all managed online. Signal was good but could only sign up with 2 devices & only one could be connected at a time.
We pitched by the fenced sports area - combined tennis/volleyball/football pitch at the bottom corner of the site. Children are supposed to be accompanied by adult if using this. Teenagers gathered there after dark & created a bit of a racket shouting & screaming. Pretty loud when you're in a tent. Went on till gone 11pm. We let it go on first night & I dealt with it 2nd night. 3rd night I decided the site needed to get involved & to their credit the warden was straight down there laying the law down in better French than I could muster as it never happened again on our 2 weeks stay.
Nice main pool with a decent depth & a small kids pool are available. We only used it very early in the morning when it was dead - between 9 & 11. Looked busy at other times. Saw plenty of unsupervised kids running, bombing etc (again should have adult present) & even adults smoking by the pool & no sign of any staff supervision. This would have bugged us if we'd been using it during the day but I'm sure the staff would have intervened if asked. Just a bit laid back I guess. Didn't notice any disabled access to the pool - just steps but check if needed.
20-30 minute walk into Greoux Les Bains. You can access a quiet lane from the bottom of the site which leads to a riverside path into town.
Overall the staff were friendly & the site well kept & clean. If we were in that area again as a family we'd use this site again. We were made very welcome by both staff & other campers alike.
