Friendly, welcoming, quirky site. Even for one night I felt part of a community.
Facilities on the basic side but perfectly adequate.
Close to a railway but the trains didn’t bother me.

Cheerful and slightly mad! I had a good time in my short stay at Ennywevvers.
There's a good community spirit and all the facilities required.
Very accessible by bicycle.

This site is conveniently situated and competitively priced, less than 30 mins walk from the centre of Bristol and very secure from the outside world with a large and solid gate on it and the staff I met were very helpful;
However it is not really the place you are looking for if what you want is an "all singing, all dancing", all mod-cons type of site, it's more of a hippy commune with your experience there being more or less what you would expect from such a description.
The shower is of decent quality but most of the other facilities are not what you would expect of a campsite this far into the 21st century.
Granted, there was a lot of mud about but this was almost totally down to the monsoon weather that most of the UK had endured for the previous two weeks so I can't realistically slate the site for this but terrier dogs wandering free, using anywhere they liked as a toilet and finding dead rats with their throats ripped out only feet from where tents are pitched is not what you really want to see at any time, let alone first thing in the morning!

What can I say. The most unusual campsite I've ever stayed on!
Firstly, don't be put off by the approach road. It does look like there should be kids sitting around on car bonnets staring at you, and the outside of the campsite looks like there's a car breakers yard on the inside.
BUT, one shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. To those that desire luxury and perfection, this place will not be easy on the eye. But I found the old pottery, chimneas made out of old gas bottles, and general odds and ends lying around the site to create a little bit of charm.
The camping area is small. Don't turn up with a big tent - it probably won't fit. This is a place most suitable for backpackers. You WILL be close to your neighbours so bear that in mind. If there's an event on the space fills quickly, so best to get there early if you're coming at the weekend, and maybe phone ahead. I did "book" over the phone, but I'm really not sure that was written down anywhere! The larger-than-life Scottish gent that owns the place doesn't seem to be one for Admin, but his eccentricity makes him a joy to talk to!
The kind of people that stay at this site I think are mostly students, solo travellers, people with a sort of peace-loving hippy sort of outlook on life. You won't find luxury at this campsite, but you will find some quirky characters in a quirky environment, which is quite nice if you're the same way.
There are two showers on the site, one heated by solar panels so may not always be great depending on the weather. There was one toilet I think. It certainly wasn't luxurious, but was reasonably clean. Loo roll provided. I think there was handsoap too.
There is a cafe on-site. I didn't eat there so can't comment on the food, but nice facility to have.
There are a few "glamping" units too - one is a converted boat which looked quite fun to stay in. The glamping units all had wood fired stoves by the looks of it.
I paid £10 for the night. Pretty good considering you can walk to Bristol City Centre in about 20-25 minutes. 10 minutes walk away there are a couple of pubs. I recommend "The Cauldron" on Mina road where the food is good too.
Overall, I think if you like mod-cons and luxury this probably isn't the campsite for you. Similarly if you're travelling with lots of stuff, lots of kids, or lots of expectations then you're best to look elsewhere.
However, if you're travelling with just you, perhaps your mate, your acoustic guitar and maybe your dog, you won't forget your stay here. You certainly won't forget any of the personalities you find here!.
