We visited this site in early May after reading the reviews on here and elsewhere.
The town of Clisson is nothing special and can we slowly walked around in about 30 minutes. There is a Chateau, which we didn't visit as we were "chateau'd out' having already been to several.
The site itself was a disappointment and bears no relation to website photographs. There are quite a few tatty looking mobile-homes and plans are clearly in place to add further structures and thus reduce the number of pitches available.
On a walk around I counted 20 which were serviceable to smallish vans. To the right upon entering there are some hard standings clearly designed for drive in/out accessibility except that on this occasion there was a a wreck of a car blocking that type of access and a ramshackle shelter attached to an old camping car which was being done up on site - cue angle-grinder at 7am! Management did nothing about it - they seemed quite pally with the offender.
The hard standing pitch suited us as it had been pouring in rain BUT they do not provide much space as they are very narrow. The riverside walk and path into Clisson were both closed.
The amenities block was large, clean and well- looked after with ample hot water. Electric on site was 10amp and reliable. ACSI accepted. A note for those with 8ft wide caravans. I don't think you would get in.
The entrance is quite narrow and we had to be careful with a standard width van. The nearby Shopping/industrial areaway the source of noise by way of delivery lorries lust before opening at 8-8. 30am.
Reception was closed on arrival and nobody answered the phone number; however turning around is easy and there is ample space at Leclerc just round the corner for parking up.
We returned two hours later at 2.50 to find a reception manned but still locked up - we were allowed in just 10 minutes early.
In all a disappointment and we wouldn't go back

The site is near a retail park, which is ideal for when you need to do some shopping, no noise from this at all.
The site itself I'm sorry to say is nothing special, however the facilities are good.
The motorhome point is outside so make sure you fill up with water before you enter.
You have to use a jeton for this but they're available from reception, free if you're staying.
The town of Clisson is beautiful, there is a lovely chateau, an old town and walks along the river.
They don't take cash at reception, card only, but do accept ACSI.

This is a small (30-odd pitches and a handful of statics), ex-municipal site in a commercial area on the edge of the attractive little town, with Lidl and Leclerc supermarkets and an excellent boulangerie on the doorstep.
Access to the site is straightforward and there is a barrier with a code for entry. While we were there, most people seemed to be using the site for an overnight stay.
The pitches are not huge but of a decent size, easily able to accommodate our 6. 5m caravan and car, though it may have been cramped with an awning, and had a 10amp electricity supply.
The pictures we'd seen of the site showed grassy pitches with lots of attractive flowers and bushes, so we were disappointed to find bare earth pitches (which quickly become muddy in the rain) and very little sign of any floral displays - perhaps inevitable by the end of September but not what we were expecting.
The "wilder" sloping area at the back of the site was more attractive and led to the steep, rough steps down to the riverside path. This took you to the town one way and a watermill and woodland tracks the other. The historic town centre by the river was very attractive and we discovered a lovely park nearby.
The toilet and shower block was modern and clean (despite comments in some other reviews we'd seen) and provided the only fresh water supply on the site.
Chemical disposal was at the motorhome service point just outside the site entrance but we found no way to rinse out the cassette after emptying.
Despite all the positives, and us really wanting to like it here, this was unfortunately not a site for us.

We decided to use this site on a rainy Sunday when travelling up from the Atlantic coast, we had planned to visit a France Passion site but the awful weather on that day made us change our minds - what a find!
Clisson is towards the western end of the Loire valley, this site is ideally placed for exploring that area. The site is on the outskirts of the town.
There are a number of hard-standing pitches as well as grass pitches, these are of typical size for most French campsites, not huge but not cramped either. There is also a motorhome parking area set out like an aire but we were free to use a pitch if we wanted (we did). The grounds are well kept and pleasantly presented, the pitches had hedge, herbacious or fence borders.
The sanitaires are unisex, they were also spotlessly clean and spacious.
The foul weather precluded walking down to the river so cannot vouch for that.
Reception were very friendly and helpful.
The motorhome waste point is a borne outside of the entrance, the car park acts as the aire when the campsite is closed.
In addition to the Lidl near the entrance, there is a large LeClerc close by too (which also sells fuel).
Unfortunately our visit coincided with some of the worst weather in central France for years so we headed towards Brittany and the sun! We would definitely use this site again and hope to explore more of the area in the future.

Used it for a one night stop over enroute north but could happily stay here for a few days in the future.
This is a municipal site on the outskirts of the town but beautifully located on the slopes down to the river.
Decent pitches set round a single very spacious utilities block.
Unusually, this site has a fire pit which we loved and introduced our French neighbours to the Scouting delight of S'mores.
100m from the entrance is a Lidl where one's morning baguette was a hefty €0. 35.
Clisson itself is very beautiful and well worth spending a day wandering and lounging outside a bar or café, or both.
A definite 10 out of ten.
