This Site was fantastic. Really reasonable fees toilet block and showers were always clean warden was very helpful. We went with some family so there was 2 large tents with 4 adults and 5 young boys aged 2-7 yrs. They loved exploring the area and the freedom of running round the field.
We also were very lucky to go when we had a sudden burst of intense sunshine so bought a cheap paddling pool and semi filled it from the tap and they played in it for days.
Definitely recommend to anyone.

This site is excellent if you just want to get away from it all. Nice field to pitch on. Basic toilets and showers Warden very friendly and helpful. Its about £4.25pnpp to camp. Things for the children to do but no park . There are picnic benches all around the site and you can have a fire on a altar try if you want to, near your tent ! There is a Morrison near by and you must try the grass sledging no matter how old you are £2.50 for an hour

Ashworth Valley is (surprisingly) located on/near a valley. The views are excellent and the facilities are good. With this being a Scout site, the prices are very reasonable. Less than £2 per person per night. There are a variety of different huts to rent out, ranging from a basic wooden hut to a luxury bunk bed holiday centre.
There are free Showers and toilets. There is a camp fire circle and a massive supply of wood for burning on alter fires. The warden is friendly and helpful.
The local attractions are of course Manchester, Bolton Waterplace, Nearby cinema complex, local swiming pool, local sports centre, and hiking on the local footpaths.
