Pitches were grass and mud. Lots of trees so shady. Sheep grazing on campsite one morning.
Toilets and showers were old and scruffy. Seemed fairly clean though. Had one lukewarm shower about 9am. Rest of the time water was cold. No staff around most of the time so never found out if hot water was restricted times.
Handy for driving into Merida and lots to see there. We parked at Roman Theatre car park for about 9€.

This camp site was spoiled for us because of the dogs ( 5/6 ) that were kept next to the site barking any time someone went near them also, there were no picnic benches for the under canvas dwellers to use. There is a decent bar and restaurant but I would only go again if I was desperate

A very convenient campsite, when we arrived it was a case of find your pitch then pay when the reception opens. The pitches where again marked out by trees and the ground was wet due to the heavy rain, but when the rain stopped the ground soon dried up. We were camped behind the bungalows housing a party of school kids visiting Merida. They did not disturb us. The site is fairly basic, half closed because it is the low season. Did not use the restaurant or bar, though did look expensive. Merida is a lovely city full of historical buildings, well worth a days visit, so much to see. The site is in a fantastic geographical and historical location, but that is the way they obniously want to keep it.

We stopped at this site twice (once going south, once coming north), the site being convenient for access to the motorway. As it was out of season, we were able to choose our own pitch. The bar and restaurant were open, but being Out of season it was only a limited menu. The facilities were clean, but no toilet seats or toilet paper. The site Required payment in cash, they didn't appear to have any facilities for electronic payment. The pitches for the most Part are shaded or partially shaded by trees. Whilst we were there there was a fire on some adjacent scrubland which Kept spreading into the site. We were advised this happens every year in September, it's worthwhile avoiding the Pitches near the corner between the pool and the external boundary. It's a good site to try out your Spanish as Reception and the bar and the handyman don't speak English. However staff were friendly and prepared to take time to Help (I had an electric issue - which actually turned out to be 'user error' on my part - which the handyman helped Diagnose - I'll check my RCBs next time).
Merida itself has some spectacular Roman ruins which are worth seeing.
I'd probably stay here again if I was in the area.

I stayed here as part of my cycle tour from North to Souther Spain. Of all the campsites I'd say this is one of the worst I stayed at. It was dirty and noisy with dogs barking all through the night. Other campers had their dogs off leads running about and the owners dogs were off leads too. There was also several dog 'deposits' on the pitches. I would go out of my way to avoid this place in future.
