Great campsite. Ideal location for Chamonix and we certainly made the most of the free valley train to get out to hiking starts.
Campsite has good facilities: plenty of hot showers, toilets, washing up facilities and even a couple of undercover cabins for sitting or cooking in if it rains, charging devices etc.
Can be a little noisy at night as you’re close to your neighbours despite being separated by hedges and some sites are quite small.
Also next to a helicopter base which flies off throughout the night!

A warm welcome from the English speaking couple that run this campsite which must be in the best spot in Chamonix for walking. Free buses run from just outside the site along the whole valley, walking distance to the train station at Les Praz for the Flegere chairlift. Acess to river and many walks. Some easy along the river valley, some more challenging up to the glaciers and Grand Balcons. A transitory site while we were there, though some stayed for a fortnight, many were overnighters and serious walkers and rock climbers of all nationalities outnumbered us. Groups are accepted but despite there being quite a few of thee while we were there the site has a quiet after 22. 00 hrs policy which seemed to work! There is a heliport next door which is noisy, particularly when they go out at night which they did on our first night. Twice! But it IS the mountain rescue.
Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly, while we were there the toilets were fine but would struggle to cope with the numbers if the site was full. No seats on the loos and toilet paper outside. I don't think we were the only ones that found that the handwashing facilities were not ideal for the toilets as you had to walk some way to the sinks where there was no soap or dryers. A small buvette for drinks and ice creams and bread delivered to the site daily. Pizza van, galette van and BBQ van visit most nights. Very high quality food. The BBQ had marinaded chicken and duck breast! The views from the site are stunning, you are surrounded by mountains and every day for 11 days we woke to blue skies. Mont Blanc and the Aiguille du Midi right in front of us! We paid 27 euros a night. A bit more than we expected. But for the location it was worth it!
