Process of booking was easy and owner is friendly and approachable.
The site is next to a public footpath that leads down to Coniston water, which is a pleasant three mile walk. Bus stop right outside the campsite.
Small dog friendly campsite which suited us.
There is a pub opposite (the Wilson's arms) that does lovely meals.
Facilities are fairly basic but adequate. We would stay here again.

Assigned pitch before arrival, did plan to have awning, but hardstanding quite narrow and sloping on this pitch, so were given choice of another.
Did not put awning up though as this pitch was also narrow meaning that 1/2 the awning would have been on muddy grass.
Toilets x2 were clean, but a job still in progress. Path to them uneven, need torch at night.
Path alongside site ideal for dog walking as semi gravelled. No problem with amp capacity. Fair price for site.
The Wilson Arms across road was very welcoming, nice fire and varied food options.
They also have a site behind the pub with shepherds huts etc.

Nice quiet site well located and easy access. 5 pitches, all hardstanding.
Toilet and shower are new and currently bring completed.
Also a new glamping pod with hit tub. Unfortunately the pub is closed at the moment
With only bed and breakfast but there is a pub over the road which does meals and has a small deli shop.
During the week there is a bus which passes the entrance to go either to Coniston or Broughton.
Plenty of walks nearby.

I have to say that Mark (the owner) was marvelous, so helpful & nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
Always had a smile and was quick with a joke.
The site was very easy to enter & exit with the caravan.

Great location but the pub is closed for the whole year due to COVID.
One toilet only, but clean, and lots of sanitiser across the small site.
The car park is being used for vans / motorhomes as well as the caravan and motorhome club pitches (not many), with a few hookups.
No wash up / bathroom facilities or showers although the owner did say you can use one of the B&B rooms if you need.
Great walks from the site so no need to drive!
The pub across the road is open with lots of space outside if the weather allows! Serves meals too.

Friendly, helpful and patient owner who described the benefits of the site and the locality very well. However, there was no grey water disposal point and no hoses to top up water, which would be very useful.
The very friendly nearby pub did splendid meals, and a great choice of real ales - highly recommended. I will return - but with hoses!
By the way - I cannot submit my review without leaving a score for child friendliness so I gave 10 out of 10 even though I could not comment either way as there were no children on view.

This was perfect for us. A lovely location with walks directly from the site. Not too many hardstanding pitches which meant each unit had plenty of space and privacy. A little bakery nearby, selling not only bread but sandwiches to take away.
The pub where the piches are located is not actually open at the moment as a result of the virus, but there is another fully functioning pub just over the road which also does meals.
Toilet facilities basic but adequate and clean. No showers but that didn't bother us, we could manage as we were only staying a short while and other vans seemed to have their own facilities.
We would definitely return to this site and hope to soon.
I have no experience of visiting with children so cannot rate this category, although there was a family there at the same time as us.

Stayed overnight. Lovely location with two pubs within walking distance. Church House Inn was very busy but the food looked lovely, will book next time!
Ate at The Wilsons Arms (as we have several times as fairly local). Food is always excellent.
No hook up but a toilet and shower block. Used toilet which was clean and perfectly adequate. Showers appeared to be equally clean but did not need to use them.
I would definitely go back to this site. It is quiet and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Several lovely walks to Coniston start here. Landlord(?) very friendly and helpful.
Bar staff work exceedingly hard and are perfectly pleasant.
