This campsite has everything that you need, but the terrain is on a rather steep hill, the pitch was very small could just get caravan on and had to reverse car in gently to be able to open car door.
We had to pay extra for rubbish bag €1 had to pay extra for washers to use showers €1 for seven minutes and also for electric (which in Germany is usual I found out).
The reception staff were friendly and found us a vet so we could up date passport to bring our dog home.

This campsite is now called KNAUS Campingpark Bernkastel-Kues (and has been for a few years). I'm not sure if the previous review is for the correct place. It mentions a steep hill, but I would describe this campsite as pretty level.
We've stayed here twice for the local wine festival. The pitches are pretty small and at busy periods there aren't enough EHU points, but its an easy walk or cycle into town so its worth it for the location.
The sanitary block was upgraded for 2018 and is very nice but maybe a bit small for the site when it is busy, but I prefer to use our own facilities most of the time anyway. The MH service point is by the entrance and be prepared to queue for it if you leave mid-morning.

Stayed for five nights on our way home from Austria. This is a Knaus site and gives preferential pitches to motorhomes and caravans.
In a tent we were offered pitches next to the toilet block but were told by staff that they were not good pitches.
The alternative was to pitch on the field, which we chose, but grass surface was very rough and bumpy and the field was some distance from toilet facilities and the water supply.
Shower facilities are inadequate in number for the number of pitches on this site and queues were usual at the weekend. The men's showers have no individual changing areas. Cafe facilities are minimal.
The location on a bend of the Moselle river is very attractive and interesting to see the variety of craft using the river. Bernkastel-Kues is 30 mins walk from the site and is a real gem, lovely buildings, many wine houses and restaurants.
Also worth a visit is the St Nicholas Hospital on the Kues side of the river. Our experience with Knaus sites as tent campers on this holiday means we will not stay at them again.

Next to the Mosel, and owned by the Knauss company. You'd expect it to be good. Nothing like it unfortunately.
Dated and tired facilities, poorly maintained and unattractive.
It's a 20 minute walk into the twin towns of Kues (site side of the river) and Bernkastel on the other side of the bridge from Kues.
The latter is more inspiring than the latter, but not much. Avoid.

Excellent campsite situated on virtual island right on the river front.
Good restaurant and easy walk into Kues and over the bridge into the wonderful old fairytale town of Bernkastel
Easily able to visit other towns on the Moselle and Trier the wonderful old city.

We have stayed on this campsite several times the last few years and think it is a great site. The site is big and you have plenty choices where to pitch.
You can choose, by the river, under the trees, or with a view of satellite for sat TV. The little restaurant is very nice and much better than what you expect.
The menu is not extensive but perfect for a meal and a nice drink. The restaurant prices are very, very cheap and the service is good.
The crowning glory is that it is so near (short walk)to Bernkastle along the riverside. Bernkastle is one of the prettiest places in germany with beautiful castle, boat trips or river cruises with a multitude of cafes and restaurants.
You can wander along the quaint narrow streets and have a visual feast. As far as I am concerned if you are anywhere near it is a must stay and see. David brook
