We visited this site Easter 2024. The weather had been terrible for months beforehand leaving the ground very wet underfoot. We checked in advance that camping was still possible and with detailed instructions, we went ahead with our journey.
We were met on arrival by the owner who sited our van and gave me a lift in the gaitor to reception to check in. It was still raining while the owners and their team were busy moving large heavy duty sheets around to get us and our friends safely sited.
Once the rain subsided, the sun appeared and we could try to dry out.
The site is well maintained with excellent toilet/shower facilities, small but well stocked shop with honesty box and even a games room.
We didn’t make use of the fishing lakes or shepherd huts but they were kept busy with visitors each day as it’s a popular location. The site was peaceful with a great dog field and equipment for dogs to make use of.
A local pub provided great food and somewhere for us to walk to at certain times but there wasn’t a lot else within walking distance.
We had a great time here, despite the weather trying to ruin it and had it been sunny, it was a perfect location for a short break. The owners were incredible and couldn’t have done more to ensure we had an enjoyable stay.
Would definitely recommend it as a great site to visit Somerset.

A peaceful, friendly campsite with spotless facilities.
Fishing ponds added to the abundance of nature.
Lovely area with excellent pub (The Babbling Brook) within an easy walk.

Lovely countryside setting with 2 pubs within easy walking distance & footpaths leading every which way from the site great for us as we have 2 dogs.
The facilities are great in the current Covid issues as each is a self obtained toilet/shower, fire pits and logs available for hire from a small honest shop.
At night the lights from Hinckley can be seen twinkling across the fields which being so close may discourage some.
