Small site alongside a canal. Grass pitches. Facilities are pretty basic. Small supermarket in walking distance along canal towpath. Expensive for what it is (you pay extra for a shower), but convenient and pleasant enough for an overnight stop if it's on your route. Easy cycle ride along the side of the canal into Charleroi, although we didn't do this.

A small quiet site ideally placed for visiting Waterloo or Brusselles but really best suited to short stopovers.
We spent two nights here and, unfortunately, came from a site in Germany with the best shower blocks we've ever seen. By contrast, the ones here are best described as serviceable and the chemical toilet emptying point was interesting (a concrete pipe set into the ground with a hubcap with a broom handle through it serving as a lid; the tap was about 5 metres away around the corner). There's a 1 euro fee per person for the showers. We paid but stuck to the caravan facilities.
The owner was pleasant enough but a bit taken aback by the size of our van, which is a 7. 5m single axle - the site road was too narrow for us to get around so we ended up in a larger space with a straight drive out towards the gate.
Don't let the above put you off - this is a nice little site - very picturesque and quiet but if you're used to Caravan Club standards it's more like a CL with basic facilities - this is reflected in the price.
The location is right by a canal, which has working barges operating, though they didn't bother us at all; not sure if they stop at night or not.
Lidl and Carrefour Market are both in the village, the latter within walking distance, and there are a few self service garages for fuel nearby, but don't ask your sat nav to find one - we drove for about 45 minutes through villages and along cobbled country lanes to a garage; it took 10 minutes to get back when we realised where we were!
