This was a lovely well kept site, run by a very helpful couple who have just recently taken over the site.
The facilities were clean and the morning bread service delivered rolls still hot from the oven. The site is situated in a small village close to Rothenburg, a short walk away but involving a steep hill.
However this walk is well worth it to stroll around the town and soak up the sights. There is a small on site shop which has many of the basics and a range of wines/beers.

Very good little site with good basic facilities in an excellent location for visiting the beautiful medieval city of Rothenburg (about 15 minutes walk uphill). It is directly on an established official cycle route following the river. Arrival was simple and signposted from the main road through Detwang, though the entrance is a little tight (as is that to the larger, neighbouring site of Tauber Romantik). The pitches are grass (in good condition) and variable in size - the owner asks how long your electric lead is and positions you accordingly. Rates are very reasonable though they exclude electricity but this wasn't a great deal. The owner, as in some other German sites, connects your electric and locks the box - you just go to get him when ready to be disconnected. Arrival late was no problem - although they told us up to eight was fine, we called to say we'd be late and were told the reception is open til ten pm, so as long as you ring ahead and book, you can arrive up to that time. Owners were friendly and helpful.
Toilet blocks are very clean and in good repair, the only downside being the limited number of showers, but then again it's a very small site.
There are no play facilities but there is a small playground in the neighbouring churchyard which was free to use. The only minor downside is that the churchbell chimes every half hour but it was hardly noticeable.
The site seems to be used as a stopover by a lot of cyclists as well as motorists but is good enough for longer stays and the town and surrounding countryside are well worth it.

This is a very convenient site for visiting Rothenburg.
The town is an excellent example of a walled territory- well preserved buildings and excellent places to eat and drink.
Facilities on site are very good. Nice staff.
