4th time back and time to write a review!
This site is perfect, The owners are great, attentive and happy to help.
The site very dog friendly, the toilets, showers and washing up area are always clean and tidy and the water is always hot,
The option to have fires adds to the camping atmosphere and Rich brings wood around in his little truck Which he give kids rides in which they love (the owners are great with kids)
The pitches are well spaced apart and even on a bank holiday the site still feels very spacious and feels like any other time as they don't squeeze people in.
The area is very safe for the kids and the addition of the 2 turkeys make the kids laugh as they follow them around, also broadstonehenge keeps the kids very entertained.
The shop and cafe are great and do some fantastic food and drinks. The lakes are good to walk around and the small free one is perfect for the children to catch their 1st fish, also good fun looking for Terry the turtle.
When I 1st decided to stay here I saw people mention that they could hear the road, on all 4 occasions staying at different parts of the field I have never noticed it.
Also the mention that you cant walk to the pub also is wrong, if you go out the back of the site into the woods there is a great track that takes you to the pub and takes no more than 45 mins and is a great little walk and if your lucky you may see the peacocks that escaped up there lol.

I have mixed feelings about this campsite.
Likes:
- Great location for access to the Forest of Dean and Monmouthshire
- Good ground for pitching
- Large site with choice of pitches
- Pleasant countryside
- Friendly staff
- Small bar and cafe on site
- Eco Dishwashers (see below comments) at £2. 20 per wash
Dislikes
- Number of toilets insufficient for the volume of trade. Trough urinals resulting in unhygienic floor.
- Site looking tired in places, for example, play area which is limited.
- Bins area unswept with broken glass and rubbish strewn across the ground.
- Installation of eco-dishwashers meaning that there is no option for handwashing cutlery using hot water in the single sink.
Conclusion.
If alternative options were limited then I would use this site but would prefer to shop around for alternatives.

Cannot recommend this site highly enough.
Clean facilities, small play area, reception with basic essentials. Electric hook ups available. Relaxed atmosphere with fire pits allowed. Fishing pond free for kids, fly and coarse fishing for adults. Cafe with veranda overlooking a small pond. Breakfast was very tasty as were the homemade scotch eggs. Staff are all family I think and are all friendly and helpful.
It is on the Forest of Dean edge and you can walk directly into the Forest from the site. Symonds Yat, Clearwell caves, go ape, Monmouth and Ross on Wye are all within half an hour of here so there is always something to do or you can sit on the veranda and enjoy coffee, cake and the views.

Back in March we booked in for 4 nights at a camp site in the Forest of Dean. This was to be the first time that we had taken our 2 oldest Grandchildren off for a short break during the Whitsun half term. It was to be their first time caravanning with us and both were looking forward to the trip.
I had been monitoring reviews of the site on line and was becoming suspicious of the condition of facilities at this site and in particular the completion of a proposed toilet and shower block. Reviews were critical of the extant facilities.
Over Easter we decided to make a recce of the site to see how progress was being made on the said toilet and shower facilities. Arriving at the site we were impressed by the tarmacked and manicured entrance, but as we ventured further into the site our expectations were severely dashed. The access road mutated into a rough and uneven farm track on a relatively steep incline which I feared would cause the caravan’s A-frame to bottom out as we drove up it. On reaching the site pitches we were disappointed on the layout of the pitches and in particular amazed at the toilet and shower facilities. Effectively a port-a- cabin containing separate male and female facilities consisting of a single toilet and shower unit with a washing up facility tacked on the end of it.
The decision had been made. We needed to find a new site to avoid disappointing the Grandchildren and find it quickly.
By chance we came upon Broadstone Park, situated on theA4136 on the Monmouth to Staunton road. The entrance to the site was very inviting and overall looked well maintained and cared for by the owners. Reception is at the end of a well maintained single track adjacent to the owner’s property and fishing lakes. There is also small shop and café/restaurant at reception.
On arrival we spoke to the owner, Jeff, and explained our situation. He understood of our need to find somewhere to ensure we kept our promise to the Grandchildren. Concerned that he may be fully booked for the forthcoming Whitsun holiday checked his bookings register and managed to accommodate us on an electric pitch for the 4 night we wanted. What a lovely man Jeff is. He was extremely friendly and very keen to accommodate us.
Well Whitsun arrived and our expectations were more than exceeded. Broadstone Park has got to be one of the best sites we have stayed at in the UK.
All I can say is “What a fantastic place this is. ” Would I return? “Most definitely. ” Would I recommend it to friends and family? “Absolutely!'
Pros
Owners and staff were warm and friendly and went out of their way to ensure that we had a good time. Nothing was too much effort for them.
Located on the edge of the Forest of Dean this site provides easy access to Perrygrove Railway, Puzzle Wood and Clear well Caves. The International Birds of Prey Centre at Newent is approximately ½ hr. Away by car.
Toilet facilities are exceptionally good and well serviced. At a busy time like Whitsun you would expect it to get a bit messy. This didn’t appear to be the case. Every time we visited the facilities they were clean.
There is a bike wash close to the toilet and shower block to facilitate the needs of mountain bikers.
CDP and refuse disposal point is away from the pitches, which to my mind is fantastic. No one wants to be close to refuse or a CDP and the last thing you want, is to have it tacked on to the end of washroom facilities. A great bit of thoughtful planning, as I see it.
Good food available at the small shop in reception. The wild boar burgers are something to die for.
Fire baskets can be hired and logs purchased at reception for use on pitches.
Great children’s adventure playground for the kids to play in.
Trout fishing is available for table fish or catch and release. There’s also a small pond stocked with Rudd to get youngsters interested in fishing and enjoying the countryside. Fly fishing tuition is available from the fantastic and extremely knowledgeable on-site professional, Mr Güenter Maer.
There’s nothing better than seeing a 7 year old youngster catch his first trout, take it back to the caravan and get his Granddad to cook it for him. Learn all about nature observe wildlife and forget about games consoles. The rainbow trout are full finned, in great condition, fight well and taste fantastic.
On-site shop stocks the essentials. Wild boar burgers, pizzas and free range eggs are just a few of the goods you can buy.
Great Café/restaurant on site serving good quality food.
Chickens roaming freely amused the Grandchildren as did Arnie and Barney the resident pet pigs.
Exceptionally good value for money.
Cons
Would benefit from having a few more drinking water points located around the site instead of relying on a single point to cater for the whole of the campsite. However, saying this, it may be on the agenda of future development plans.
Pitches are not generous but capably accommodated our car, caravan and spacious awning. Pitches are all grass pitches and are therefore not absolutely level.
No fully serviced or hard standing pitches to cater for elderly campers. Site may benefit from having a few premium rate hard standing pitches with EHU and Water on the pitch. Again this may be in the future development plans for the site.

I was doing Offas Dyke at the beginning of April and I needed to find a campsite near Monmouth. Fortunately, I found this campsite as I was approaching the Kyim and stayed for one night.
It's a lovely campsite with really helpful and lovely owners who looks after everyone. I mainly had the campsite to myself so I had a good time relaxing from my walk.
They offer free wifi and they also have a little shop where you can order some food too.
Good toilet facilities and it's not far from several public footpaths.
The only issue I had was that it was right next to the main road so it can get fairly noisy during peak times. There also wasn't many water taps nearby which can be a problem if there were many people around.
Apart from that, it's been great!

Lovely site, lovely owner, amazing facilities, very hard to find much to criticise. Not many electric hook ups so probably best to book if you want one and the adjacent road is fairly busy but the noise didn't bother us.
Nice fishing lake on site, also free range chickens and eggs for sale.
Owner also sells wild boar and venison burgers for the bbq and can loan you a fire basket with wood etc.
Plenty of walking and cycling nearby in the forest, short drive into Momnouth.
We will return.
